WATERBORNE/CDI PROGRAM COORDINATOR (HPM 2) Job Location: Address: 150 N.
18th Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85007 Posting Details: Salary: $55,000 Grade: 21 Job Summary: This position serves as the Communicable Disease Investigation and Waterborne Disease Coordinator in the Food/Waterborne Disease Program within the Office of Infectious Disease Control.
This position will be responsible for conducting enteric disease case investigations and interviews to determine disease origin as well as monitoring agency enteric disease investigation metrics and investigators’ performance and development.
This position will recognize areas for improvement and coordinate internal and external program training, ensuring compliance with current CDC guidance and ADHS standards.
As part of ADHS' continuous improvement initiatives, this position will develop, refine, and disseminate continuing education tools to improve the quality and representation of ADHS during case investigations and disease intervention.
This position will provide support and technical assistance to and play a critical role in ensuring the timely completion of communicable disease investigations and other grant-related activities.
This position will also be responsible for coordinating the Healthy Swimming Program at ADHS, including coordinating Harmful Algal Bloom prevention and response efforts.
The position will help provide health education and presentations to the public and other stakeholders and help organize the annual healthy swimming educational campaign.
As needed, this position will also provide support and technical assistance to tribal and county partners and local disease investigation partners to ensure timely and quality case investigation, data collection, and disease intervention, especially for Enteric and Waterborne Diseases.
The position will work under the direction of the Epidemiology Manager and will work with minimal supervision.
This position may provide administrative leadership and technical guidance to administrative support staff, data entry specialists, and/or journey-level communicable disease investigators, as assigned.
The employee will be expected to make independent decisions and judgments based on their professional education, programmatic experience, and training.
This position is responsible for maintaining confidential information and adhering to strict data security and confidentiality protocols.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Develop protocols, conduct literature reviews, prepare presentations, conduct health education, and participate in grant writing activities Participate in disease investigations by responding to calls from tribal and county disease investigators or contracted investigators, providing subject matter expertise and guidance for ongoing investigation services, and assisting in collecting data from local agencies or other health agencies Develop, refine, and disseminate tools to improve the timeliness and efficacy of case investigation, contact tracing, and disease intervention Participate in partner meetings, investigations, and outbreak and emergency response as needed and other duties as assigned as related to the position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of: -Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary principles and practices of disease investigation and control, basic disease transmission, and general communicable diseases.

Selective Preference(s): Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year experience as a Communicable Disease Investigator or Health Educator; associates degree and 3 years experience as a Communicable Disease Investigator/Health Educator also acceptable; or 5 years on-the-job experience as a Communicable Disease Investigator.
Preference will be given to candidate with Public Health Experience.
