00 Grade: 19 Closing Date: 03/10/2024 Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Habitat Branch Chief, this position provides consultative services, technical guidance , and administrative support to branch and agency staff in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of branch programs and projects, coordinating and providing administrative function.
Job Duties: Major duties include: - Manages the Branch’s administrative support and directly supervises work activities of Administrative Assistant - Reviews, evaluates and analyzes policies and procedures; coordinating information from six regions and assists in development of documents, reports or correspondence for the Habitat Branch Chief and staff.
Makes recommendations for action pertaining to administrative, personnel or budget issues - Coordinates contract development and agreements for purchasing, implementing purchasing requests and assisting personnel with requests, including travel, risk management, vehicle maintenance, etc - Develops effective monitoring and evaluation procedures for new and ongoing programs to assure program conformance and integrity including budget tracking, reporting, payroll and operational expenditures - Coordinates with agency staff for branch projects; planning and developing methods for process improvement and the implementation of programs, products, and/or services, supporting program goals and objectives - Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): The candidate will have knowledge of personnel management and supervision rules and regulations, policies and procedures of the Department; roles and expectations of stakeholders/cooperators/supporters/opponents; vehicle and equipment operation, fiscal management, budget development and tracking, accounting principles, office management, hiring process, administrative, personnel and procurement policies and procedures and office automation and technology tools.
Candidates must be skilled in oral, verbal and written communications, coordination, organization, leadership, outreach, critical thinking and negotiation, project planning and execution, work and time management, procedure and policy development, analysis and interpretation of data/information, program and project supervision and management, work independently with little direct supervision, conflict resolution and listening skills.
Candidates must be able to adapt to constantly changing priorities and work assignments and critically evaluate actions and make sound judgements and decisions.
Ability to negotiate, facilitate, motivate, and lead others.
Pre-Employment Requirements: If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply.
Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks.
The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended.
Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training.
An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.
