We are seeking exceptional senior candidates for appointment at the rank of Full Professor.
This is an opportunity to take a leadership role in a rapidly growing, socially embedded, innovative School in a nationally and globally engaged R1 research institution.

We seek a leader who has an open, dynamic, and transformative leadership style, practices transparency and collaboration, and has a track record of institutional advocacy.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide administrative vision, leadership, and management for the School; to contribute to and foster the School’s interdisciplinary teaching and research missions; to engage in research and teaching that complement and strengthen current offerings and emphases in SSBS; to engage undergraduate and graduate students both in teaching and research; and, to coordinate efforts to build on our successful record of acquiring research funding that draws upon the diverse expertise and methodologies of SSBS faculty and strengthens existing and developing initiatives.
Skills in team-building to support initiatives and the ability to envision and pursue new opportunities are essential.
Some recent examples that particularly reflect our commitment to social justice, inclusion, and innovation include the Global Human Rights Hub, Resilience in Social Environments (RISE), and Biological and Behavioral, Computational and Critical (B2C2) Data Initiative, and more.
About the School: The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences offers 16 majors, four graduate programs, six certificates, and 10 minors, and has 77 full-time faculty.
We serve approximately 3,800 undergraduate majors (3,100 online and 700 in person) and 1,100 Masters students (1,000 online and 100 in person).
Students in SSBS are 31% first generation and 42% racial or ethnic minority.
With an academically rigorous, career-focused, student-centered approach, the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at New College offers an unmatched educational experience.

Essential Functions of the Position: Provide administrative vision, leadership, and management for the School Foster and contribute to innovation and collaboration in teaching, research, and service that advances the ASU charter Foster and contribute to interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary research and teaching Foster inclusion at the student, faculty, and staff levels and across all aspects of the School's operations Engage in research and teaching that complement and strengthen current and emerging offerings and emphases in SSBS Qualifications Required Qualifications: PhD in a social or behavioral science or related interdisciplinary field, which may include Anthropology, Communication, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, or similar An excellent research record warranting appointment as a Full Professor with Tenure at ASU Evidence of academic leadership in a department, school, college, or university setting Desired Qualifications: Previous experience as chair or director of an academic unit Commitment to institutional and/or community leadership, service, teaching, and research that will advance the ASU Charter Experience growing research and degree programs and managing growth and expansion Ability to promote interdisciplinary collaborations in research and teaching within a large unit and across different schools and colleges Commitment to engage in and promote service at all levels of the University, the profession, and the community Openness to new perspectives and innovative approaches Ability to foster a collegial work environment Experience promoting funded research Active program of research, publication, and grant-seeking Commitment to development and mentorship of staff and faculty (tenured, tenure-track, career-track) Evidence of institutional advocacy on behalf of faculty, students, staff, and other constituents Commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including first-generation college students A record of successful teaching and student mentorship Experience with online teaching and/or managing online education Application Instructions Application Deadline: The initial application deadline is November 26, 2023, at 11:59 p.
