Escrow Officer Assistant responsibilities:
* Communicate with escrow officer, loan officer, escrow processors and team members, title company, real estate agents, and clients to assist escrow officer in the closing process
* Read all contracts, commitments, and lender closing instructions to complete them in a timely fashion to ensure escrow closing
* Maintain proper accounting procedures when depositing and removing earnest money funds and final disbursement from the escrow account
* Perform administrative and clerical duties for escrow officer to complete escrow transactions and necessary follow-up requests
* Prepare closing documents such as settlement statements, escrow files, and closing statements
* Coordinate other pre-closing and post-closing responsibilities as directed
Escrow Officer Assistant qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required - some college preferred
* Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience as a residential escrow assistant
* Administrative support, secretarial, and clerical experience required
* Superb communications, time management, problem-solving, and customer service skills
* Experience with Microsoft office required - escrow software experience preferred (Softpro)

- Assist Escrow Officers in the closing of real estate transactions
- Prepare and review escrow documents, including contracts, loan documents, and closing statements
- Coordinate with lenders, buyers, sellers, and real estate agents to ensure a smooth closing process
- Conduct research and gather information to resolve any title issues or discrepancies
- Calculate prorated taxes, insurance premiums, and other fees as necessary
- Maintain accurate records and files related to each transaction
- Provide excellent customer service and address any client inquiries or concerns
Skills:
- Strong basic math skills for calculations and financial analysis
- Understanding of underwriting principles and loan processing procedures
- Experience working with contracts and legal documentation
- Familiarity with loan officer functions and mortgage servicing processes
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, lenders, and other parties involved in the transaction
- Proficiency in using computer software programs for data entry, document preparation, and record keeping
Please note that prior experience in the title or mortgage industry is preferred for this position.
The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail is essential.
