Description
The Performance Center is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Seasonal Fellow for the Phoenix Mercury.
This fellowship will work closely with the Vice President & Assistant General Manager on daily operational tasks, while also providing support with WNBA draft preparation, scouting, salary cap management, and other assigned tasks.
This is a temporary, seasonal position with an anticipated duration from the pre-season (April) until the conclusion of the Mercury’s 2024 season (September/October).
What You Will Do:
This position will perform duties which include, but are not limited to:
Provide communications and administrative assistance in the preparation for the WNBA draft, ensuring all details are tuned for optimal outcomes.
Contribute to talent identification scouting efforts, leveraging observational skills to pinpoint promising prospects.
Provide essential support on game days, ensuring seamless front office and operations coordination.
Provide assistance in managing salary cap intricacies, ensuring fiscal responsibilities are properly handled.
Uphold regulatory compliance with the CBA, offering steadfast support to ensure adherence to league standards.
Facilitate efficient scheduling for the front office team, optimizing productivity and workflow management.
Provide comprehensive administrative and organizational support to the front office.
Maintain and refine scouting databases to support decision-making efforts.
Capture and synthesize meeting notes with precision and clarity.
Provide dedicated support for specialized projects within the operations vertical.
What we need from this Seasonal Fellowship:
Proficiency of Microsoft Office use and ability to quickly learn internal software applications
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to work and collaborate with others
Strong solid understanding of Professional Basketball industry
Experience/Education Requirements:
3 or more years of experience within the NCAA, WNBA, NBA, G-League, or FIBA as a player, coach, or administrator.
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
Ability to work on-site - this is nota remote position

This position will be provided with housing & a stipend (hourly)
This position has a variable schedule based on organizational needs which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
When work is required on evenings or weekends this position can flex to take other days off during the week
Local travel may be required for work-related events
This position works mainly indoors, removed from extreme weather; exposure to weather (<5%)
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met

Position is predominately computer-based, requiring the use of a computer monitor
Must be able to carry a conversation both on the phone and in person
Ability to read, write, and speak in English
