*Purpose of the Position: *The job of the School Psychologist is done for the purpose/s of measuring and interpreting the intellectual, adaptive, academic, social and emotional development of children; interpreting results of psychological studies; interpreting and applying state and federal codes; and developing strategies and interventions to address the special education needs of eligible students.
*Job Group Classification:* Foundations
*Overtime Status: *Exempt
*Salary Range: *$80,000 - $85,000
*Position Responsibilities and Duties:*
* Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and appropriate agencies in the planning of educational and therapeutic programs; agency personnel may include private physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, probation officers, mental health professionals, and others as appropriate.
* Recommend appropriate educational and psychological remediation through the use of psychological tests.
* Interpret and analyze the assessment results with regard to the intellectual, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of pupils, and the implications of results for the instructional program.
* Prepare written assessment reports for each student evaluated.
* Participate in IEP teams and in IEP reviews.
* Conduct required re-evaluations on Special Education students.
* Participate in the development of school services promoting positive mental health and effective environments for learning.
* Initiate referrals to Mental Health Services when needed.
* Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of specific phases of educational programs.
* Serve as a resource person in such areas as guidance, curriculum, child development, and tests and measurements.
* Collaboration in master schedule planning for the special education program
* Perform other related duties as may be assigned

*Minimum Skills or Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s Degree in related field
* Master’s degree
* Arizona Credential authorizing the performance of psychological services
* Administrative Services Credential (Preferred)
* ADE School Psychologist Certification
* Graduate degree from NASP-Approved School
* Valid IVP Fingerprint Card
*Work Environment and Physical Demands:*
* Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes
* Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
* Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
* The noise intensity level is moderate to high
