Summary:
Performs advanced administrative oversight and support where results are timely, high quality and accurate.
Responsible for the administrative coordination, projects and support for the office of Dean of Students.
Management of student support programs including excused student absences, SGA (RSO) monitoring & assistance, and student engagement events, trainings & celebrations.
Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 DOE Location: HYBRID is okay, onsite 3 days a week required.
Responsibilities: Maintains a positive work environment by conducting oneself and communicating in a manner that is conducive to promoting an atmosphere of cooperation with students, staff, faculty and administration.
Event planning.
Serves as a first point of contact for students, staff and faculty for the Dean of Student’s office and performs a variety of administrative support activities for the Dean of Students including, but not limited to; Screening incoming DOS correspondences and directing to appropriate staff or departments.
Reviewing and approving timecards.
Maintaining and organizing files and sensitive documents both physical and electronic, for various exception programs.
Maintain and organize files related to projects and processes required under the office of the Dean of Students.
Assists in the coordination and preparation of necessary documentation for accreditation agencies, i.
e.
, Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME) and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
Tracks records and collects data for all DOS related services and activities.
Assists Accessibility Office with test proctoring as needed.
Assist in annual revisions of the Student Handbook.
Assist DOS in production and operation of DOS sponsored events.
Act as first point of review for RSO requests (Events, expenditures, records).
Act as Scribe and administrative support for various DOS-related committees, as assigned.
Be first response to Student Response programs (EdSights, etc.
) inquiries and issues.
Serves as primary point of contact for Registered Student Organizations (RSO) including but not limited to: approval of RSO events, and registration of new RSOs.
May provide administrative support to Sonoran University’s Accommodation office.
Serves as the first point of contact for student absence review requests, and similar processes, under direct supervision of the Dean of Students.
Maintain and manage electronic forms.
Maintaining mySonoran Excused Absence information.
Elevating required approvals to the Dean of Students Capturing and reporting on university protocols in effect that also impact the absence policy.
Supports the Dean of Students in the administration of the informal and formal student grievance process.
Administrative support for Dean of Students committees and task forces.
Oversees and manages the inventory process of ND student medical equipment and distribution.
Education & Experience: • Education: Associate degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred • Experience: 5 years in an administrative role or, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years’ experience in an administrative role within an institution of higher education.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational, communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to be flexible and adjust to changing priorities as needed.
5+ years of admin experience at the executive level.
Project management experience preferred.
Skilled in organization, coordination, and management of complex projects.
Ability to work independently and take leadership on projects.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient Word processing and technical skills in: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Word.
