We seek a forward-thinking and imaginative individual interested in exploring new possibilities for the future of higher education rooted in principles of co-design of student-centered experience.
Under the supervision of the Director of the Lincoln Center for Applied Ethics (LCAE), this individual will lead and coordinate the facilitation and development of the education programs of the LCAE in accordance with Center vision, goals, priorities, and resources.
These functions require the ability to work directly with ASU faculty, students, staff, the ASU Foundation, the Chautauqua Institute, The College, local high schools, and other related stakeholders to co-create curricular and para-curricular experiences grounded in ethics, imagination, and humane technology.
Essential Duties * Supervise, facilitate, and further develop educational programs at LCAE, including: * The Lincoln Scholars program (administrative, curricular, and instructional aspects) * The Chautauqua Institute/LCAE partnership * Undergraduate Research opportunities * Other innovative programming related to the future of higher education * Oversee operations, including scheduling, for other educational programming * Oversee undergraduate scholarship applications and award administration * Coordinate evaluation of education program in relation to Center goals * Develop and monitor budget for educational programs * Develop and advance funding proposals related to Center pedagogical goals and social embeddedness * Establish and maintain relations with university administrative, academic departments, donors, other institutions, and community partners as pertinent to the educational goals of the LCAE Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field AND five years administrative/coordination experience; OR, Master's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND three years administrative/coordination experience; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications * Master’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment.
* Demonstrated subject area knowledge related to pedagogical innovation * Demonstrated subject area knowledge related to technology, society, and culture * Demonstrated ability to conduct and supervise academic research, particularly at the undergraduate level * Demonstrated knowledge of ASU academic structure and organization, including academic programs, colleges, departments, and universities-wide programs * Supervisory experience * Experience in problem solving and decision-making * Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with different members of the university community, including staff, faculty, students, and administrators * Experience in collaborative teamwork: flexible, creative, and able to co-design processes and solutions * Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Canvas, Google Suite, Miro, and Dropbox * Three (3) years of related experience at ASU, or other higher education institution * Pedagogical experience, including course and curriculum design; in-person and remote teaching and mentoring students; and knowledge of experimental pedagogical practices Working Environment * Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
* Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone, and associated computer/technology peripherals.
* Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
* Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
* Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include resolving conflicts, coping with moderate stress levels, along with the requirements to complete tasks within set time constraints and frequently changing priorities.
* Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
