TRUE ANTIQUES-Unique/Unusual (wittmann)

These are some of the most unique antiques you will ever find.
In the first picture on the left is a WET CELL TELEPHONE BATTERY patent dated from 1882 ( telephone service was just beginning) It is all there including instructions for using it on the front.

The second item in that picture is a GOFFERING that dates between 1800 and 1850, probably english.
These were used to iron collars and sleeves that could be separated from a shirt.

In the second picture are four CARBIDE MINING LAMPS from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.
Used in mines primarily in eastern US and around England.
Used for lighting but primarily for safety.
If the very bright carbide flame changed colors it meant the oxygen level in the mine was changing.
