Baker

Songbird Coffee & Tea House is seeking a baker to join our small team.
We are a woman-owned business that serves a diverse community, and strives to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible.
This position will be offered to a dependable candidate to fill shifts generally Mondays-Thursdays 5:15am-1:00pm.
Candidates must be dependable, self-motivated and hard working.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
This position is physically demanding and requires frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, squatting, and stooping/bending.
Full-time employees are eligible for health insurance.
We primarily make items such as coffee cake, muffins, scones, and cookies.
Requirements: *Some baking experience* Food Handlers Card (Food Manager Card within 1 month) *Able to follow a recipe* Able to stand for the duration of the shift *Comfortable with lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs* Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills *Good judgment / decision making, and attention to detail* Team player with enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude *Follows excellent food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety practices* Duties: *Obtain Food Managers Card within 1 month* *Meet daily production requirements as determined by management* Prepare dough, batter, and fold pastries *Operate equipment including mixers and ovens* Periodically lift and carry bags, buckets, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs *Become knowledgeable of our coffees, teas, and methods* Assist team members in other areas of the store when needed: cleaning, manage register, washing dishes, and busing tables *Bake pastries to correct color and texture* Clean and reset production areas The duties of this position may change from time to time.
