What You’ll Do
Strive to uphold all hygiene and sanitation regulations, ensure that all equipment in the kitchen and dishwashing areas are clean and in good working order, being sure to report any deficiencies
Assist colleagues, steward management and culinary team to work to their greatest ability
Provide guidance and support to ensure PPE is being used correctly by team members
Reporting any incidents, accidents, or violations to Executive Steward and/or Chef Management
Maintain clear communication channels with Executive Steward, Chef Management, and other departments
Assist with food safety compliance
Direct and assist Stewards in order to make clean up more efficient.
Ensure water temperature, and chemical levels are appropriate for cleaning and documented
Assist with Banquet plate-ups
Support banquet and buffet by transporting food and ensuring adequate stock
Return cleaned items to proper locations
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor.
Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications.
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
Qualifications
2+ years of stewarding experience, leadership role preferred
Ability to spend long periods on your feet and lift 50lbs.
Exceptional attention to cleanliness and safety standards
Responsible self-starter able to work independently
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Schedule availability including nights and weekends
