Beautiful antique/vintage large and chunky African trade bead necklace.
Antique, late 1800’s Venetian Millefiori trading beads strung with chunky round wooden spindle beads/discs with an intricately carved and detailed design ram/big horn sheep pendant.
*While the Millefiori beads are antique, late 1800’s, the wooden beads and ram pendant is older though the actual age of them are unknown to me.
There are the well known African safari animal trade bead necklaces dated between the 1970s-1990s.
This pendant is particularly unusual and have not seen another like it.
Necklace is worn by placing over the head, does not untie/unclasp.
As photos show, each side comes together, down through the top of the ram pendant, though the center and out the bottom where it is then tied and connected to a wood disc.
APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: With each strand side by side, total length of necklace including the pendant is 14.
5” long so about 29” total length.
Solid and heavy ram pendant is approximately 2 1/8” wide, 1.
25” high and 1.
25” deep.
19 total antique beads ranging in size with the largest measuring 1/2” in diameter and 1” length.
Wooden beads are up to 3/4” in diameter.

Millefiori and wooden beads do have some wear and chips as expected with age.
