You will design and develop new ideas and solutions for new product development as well as current products modification and improvements based on in-service issues and market strategy.
You are responsible for design and implementation of mechanical parts, subassemblies and product improvements.
Perform analysis of turbine section components (blades, vanes, disks, etc.
).
Contribute to validation and engine certification of gas turbine engines.
The scope of work includes receiving component inspection data, analyzing for acceptance, and disposition through established reporting processes.
Analytical results will be presented in reviews with appropriate documentation to meet program or engine requirements.
Applicant must work effectively with design teams, global support, chief engineers, and FAA representatives.
Responsibilities also include working productivity initiatives to advance the current state of the art and establish standardized processes for criteria, guidelines, and practices.
Key Responsibilities
Receive inspection data and determine component acceptability.
Coordinate efforts and interact with other engineers for specialized analysis, as needed.
Utilize software such as Siemens NX, ANSYS, ZEISS INSPECT (GOM) and other internal tools.
Provide technical oversight to global engineering teams across time zones.
Provide project and product compliance.

YOU MUST HAVE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
Most applicable are Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degrees.
Basic understanding of mechanical design issues.
Stress, strain, fatigue, heat transfer, aerodynamics.
How material properties affect stress and strain.
Mechanical design for stress/strain, durability.
Desire to communicate and skill in it.
