We Require
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Three years of IT-related experience
Additional IT-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
We Also Value
One year of experience working in a criminal prosecution, criminal justice, or legal business environment
Web developer experience
Experience working with SQL, C#, .
NET, ASP.
NET, PHP, Visual Basic, Java, and JavaScript
Experience working with Eclipse, IBM MQ, and WebSphere Application Server
Job Contributions
Develop applications from conception and design through implementation
Interface with end-users, business analysts, County agencies, and vendors to determine requirements and the most effective course of action for improving systems and processes
Identify problems, analyze alternatives, and make viable recommendations
Estimate time and effort for development tasks and coordinate with the Project Manager to incorporate estimates into project schedules
Utilize source control best practices to label, package, and deploy applications
Focus continually on developing business knowledge and product expertise
Follow industry practices of analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance/production support of custom applications and development environment
Multitask using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates
Cultivate positive and productive partnerships with MCAO business and IT staff, vendors, and staff from other justice and law enforcement agencies
Working Conditions
MCAO requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs.
Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and before placement
Teleworking and alternative work schedules are privileges, and employees are eligible for consideration after at least six months of employment
