Salary: $70,000 - $90,000.
00 per year DOE NCS Engineers is a dynamic water/wastewater environmental engineering firm, and we are adding a Water/Wastewater Computer Hydraulic Modeling Engineer to our corporate family in our Water/Wastewater Hydraulic modeling group in our Phoenix AZ location.
Experience with similar water/wastewater projects is required.
This position offers challenging technical and professional opportunities working on the leading edge, high-tech water and wastewater treatment design projects providing innovative water and wastewater treatment applications for utility clients.
*Key Responsibilities* * Perform hydraulic modeling and master planning of water wastewater systems using the following tools (understanding and experience with the following software packages are required): WaterCAD/WaterGEMS, SewerCAD/SewerJEMS, InfoWater, InfoSewer, ESRI GIS Software, Microsoft Office software and PC programs * Prepare reports and documents related to modeling analysis and master planning.
* Support the project manager on the assigned tasks involving all areas of the topics noted above.
* Participate in a training period, anticipated to be 3 to 6 months, depending upon experience of the candidate.
*Job Requirements* Expertise in the following: * Understanding of water/wastewater pipeline hydraulics is required, closed conduit and open channel flow, and understanding and knowledge of Water/wastewater pumping systems.
* Knowledge of distribution system water quality modeling a plus.
* Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organizational skills.
* Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
* Ability to manage and work independently on computer modeling projects.
* Ability to regularly communicate task status to the project manager.
* Ability to coordinate work on multiple projects to maintain project objectives and timelines.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills including detailed report preparation, email correspondence, project documentation, etc.
*Qualifications and Education Requirements:* Requirements: * MS in Civil Engineering, Civil/Environmental engineering with GIS or Hydraulic Modeling Emphasis.
* Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in hydraulic modeling and related GIS applications.
* Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or the ability to obtain EIT one year from start date.
* Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
* Preferred: * Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona, (PE) or the ability to obtain via reciprocity or within one year of start date.
