Senior Linux Firmware Engineer

*Overview* We are currently looking to add a Senior Linux Firmware Engineer who can demonstrate a drive and enthusiasm in embedded thin client operating systems designed to support x86 based endpoints.
Primarily to support 10ZiG’s own range of Thin Clients, but also 3rd party endpoints including PC’s, Laptops and competitor Thin Clients for VDI and Server Based Computing.
The candidate will work as part of the existing R&D team which is distributed between the USA and Europe.
The role is primarily based in our Phoenix, AZ office and you will report to the R&D Manager, with input and guidance from the Head of R&D.
*Qualifications* *Education: * * Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
* Minimum of 8 years' of experience.
* Proven track record of working within a team of engineers.
* Communication skills are a must and experience communicating remotely via collaboration tools is most desirable.
*Required Skills:* * Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
* Proficient in C/C++, JavaScript, HTML.
* Experience with Git.
*Preferred:* * Understanding of the structure of the Linux operating system.
* Experience with Jira.
* Able to write shell scripts in sh, csh, or bash.
* Able to use Linux based tools such as editors, compilers, graphical development utilities.
* Knowledge of Linux inter-process communication methods.
*Candidate will integrate 3rd party Linux software as follows:* * Develop configuration GUIs for 3rd party software.
* Integrate 3rd party Linux binaries into firmware builds.
* Design the XML representation of the configuration settings for the integration.
*Duties & Responsibilities* Candidate will work to integrate and maintain 3rd party Linux software solutions on 10ZiG x86 Thin Client Firmware.
Examples include Imprivata, ThinPrint, FreeRDP, AVD, Firefox, Chrome, VMware, Citrix.
* Work with support & R&D group to integrate 3rd party Linux software solutions.
* Evaluate competitors’ products and related technology as it applies to 10ZiG Linux firmware.
* Document the integration for support in Jira, including any necessary configuration.
* Maintain any upgrades or new features for the integrated software.
