_Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven from domestic violence for women and their children in Arizona.
Since our founding, we have transformed lives by providing shelter and support services to more than 60,000 adults and children affected by domestic violence.
We provide a broad spectrum of services to victims of domestic violence, while working with professionals in the field on education, research and advocacy with the goal of ending domestic violence.
_ *Job Summary:* In support of the Sojourner Center mission, provides support and resources for children and families with a focus on addressing trauma related to domestic violence through case management, classes and safety planning within the framework of a variety of programs.
Responsible for the flow of shift and supervision of the Youth Support Specialist, facilitates classes offered on/off site, and holds on-call responsibilities.
Coordinates with the Child Development Center coordinator and director, and programs coordinators to ensure appropriate services are being provided and management is well informed.
*Schedule: *Sunday-Thursday: 11:00am-8:00pm (May be required to work evenings and/or weekends as needed/Will hold on-call responsibilities.

after bilingual assessment) *Essential Functions:* · Identifies, adapts, and responds to crisis events, applying crisis intervention and prevention techniques and implementing culturally competent practices.
· Recognizes and responds to impacts of trauma, assisting the team in working in a collaborative, coordinated manner.
This includes effective collaboration of services across a variety of internal programs and outside agencies.
Assigns Youth Support Specialist to new families in a timely manner.
· Provides on-the-job training opportunities to Youth Support Specialist, and Residential Staff related to effective service provision and documentation.
Conducts one-on-one supervisions and team meetings.
· Ensures the care and well-being of enrolled children including appropriate supervision; engages in quality learning experiences and interacts physically through play indoors and outside; provides positive guidance; assists with personal hygiene routines; provides emotional support; teaches appropriate social skills; fosters self-esteem, autonomy, and a sense of personal power; and encourages growth and healing.
· Oversees children and youth classes offered on-site, in addition to classes related to parenting, and dynamics of DV as related to these topics; researches, chooses and/or designs, and implements curriculum in support of the strategic plan.
· Oversees the Children and Youth program, which includes building and maintaining positive relationships with parents and volunteers.
Provides orientation and training for volunteers, as it relates to Children & Youth programming.
· Effectively communicates with staff and management to ensure that supervisory relationships are built and implementation of decisions are understood in relationship to the guidelines, best practices, and mission of the agency.
Includes forming relationships with staff and participants, providing objective support and maintaining professional boundaries.
· Ensures clear, concise, and consistent documentation in accordance with established guidelines and aligned with Quality Assurance policies and procedures by assisting case managers with case file reviews and daily staff meetings.
· Assesses needs of participants, providing direction to staff in service provision while building rapport and a positive sense of community; may carry an assigned caseload; may provide Social / Emotional based education by facilitating groups and classes offered on/off-site.
· Builds and maintains relationships and partnerships with other agencies for purpose of providing services to individuals and families applying to programs from outside the community.
· Holds on-call responsibilities when assigned.
·*Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:* · A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education or any relevant field plus one year related experience, including case management; or 3 years work experience in family violence programs.
· One year of supervisory experience preferred.
· Ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card, CPR and First Aid certification.
· Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center’s insurance company.
· Bilingual Spanish-English preferred.
*Physical Factors/Working Conditions:* · Stands, walks, and sits continuously throughout the day.
· Reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries and manipulates various materials to assist participants’ moving.
· Utilizes computer to access Intranet/Internet and enter information into prepared forms.
· Some travel between work locations may be required.
· Has the potential to be exposed to infectious diseases and must use Universal Precautions.
· Required to spend time outside daily regardless of weather conditions.
· Has a risk of physical danger due to the nature of the population served.
