The cybersecurity specialist will complete tasks designed to ensure security of company systems and information assets.
Contribute efforts towards preventing data loss and service interruptions by research, analysis, development, documentation, testing, or modification of technologies, systems or programs based on design specifications that will effectively protect the network.
Analyzes reports and other data to assist with identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities.
Works with end users and project teams to determine needs of individual departments to ensure all system platforms are functional and secure.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the maintenance of current security systems.
* Monitor reports, systems, logs and alerts for suspicious activity.
* Respond to and manage incidents related to security controls including root cause analysis Remediate audit / risk findings.
* Improve and develop controls including integration with other toolsets as needed.
* Report suspected security violations, threats or inappropriate network actions, in accordance with established response procedures.
* Conduct initial investigation of suspicious activity and escalate as needed.
* Research and maintain information on current security threats and applying knowledge to the security capability.
* Use expertise to protect computers from infiltration, determine how a computer was broken in to or recover lost files.
* Use forensic tools and investigative methods to find specific electronic data, including Internet use history, word processing documents, images and other files.
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information, or Computer related technical field.
* Experience demonstrating strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for security information and event management.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
One or more of the following certifications preferred but not required:
* CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)
* GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
* Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI)
* CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
* Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
