Hiring Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 About UMOM New Day Centers: Founded in 1964, UMOM is Arizona's largest provider of services for families experiencing homelessness.
Our mission is to restore hope, rebuild lives, and end homelessness.
With an annual operating budget of $20 million dollars, UMOM provides shelter, supportive services, and housing programs to families and single women experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County.
UMOM serves over 12,000 unique individuals across all our services annually, including families receiving support at the Family Housing Hub.
Position Description: We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Evaluation and Impact to provide leadership and day-to-day management in the organization's evolution toward a more data-driven culture.
Reporting to the VP of Strategy, the Director will oversee the creation of a comprehensive data system that will allow UMOM to make data-informed decisions and uphold high standards for performance and outcomes.
This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the Data and Evaluation Team.
This position works in partnership with the COO, the VP of Strategy, and the entire Data and Evaluation team to support all UMOM's program evaluation efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluation & Organizational Learning Manages the design, utilization, and maintenance of UMOM's internal tracking database system, Efforts to Outcomes (ETO), which supports the data information needs of all UMOM programs, the Board of Directors, funders, partnering agencies, and the entire UMOM organization.
Establishes comprehensive data standards, policies, and procedures to create efficient and reliable data entry systems and ensure data quality and integrity.
Oversees the alignment of ETO usage and data collection methods with key indicators of success and agency outcomes.
Supports UMOM's comprehensive data standards, policies, and procedures to create efficient and reliable data entry systems and ensure data quality and integrity.
Translates crucial evaluation findings into recommendations that inform and support the refinement of programs and inform key resource allocation and investment decisions Works in partnership with Senior Leadership to promote a culture of data-driven decision making and performance management across all UMOM programs.
Provides program staff with internal performance management reports that show progress toward the achievement of agency goals and outcomes.
Department Operations & Staff Management Directs the day-to-day operations of UMOM's Data & Evaluation Department.
Overseestheoperatingbudgetsandreviewmonthlyvariance reportsforalldepartmentssupervisedbythis Supervises the Data & Evaluation team,includingtraining,directionofwork,appraisalofproductivityandefficiency,deliveryoffeedbackandcoaching, and disciplinary action, if Serves as the agency lead on all external reporting requirements to ensure program compliance on all government grants.
Provides accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to government and foundation funders, including the alignment of program narratives with UMOM's outputs/UOS.
Serves as UMOM's representative for special projects, external partnerships, and community work groups as assigned.
Serves as the agency liaison to Social Solutions for technical database support ongoing.
Other duties as assigned by leadership and/or executives.
Qualification and Competency Requirements: Experience and Education Minimum five years of professional experience, with at least three years of experience in relevant roles (e.
g.
program evaluation, data system administration, performance management, community-based organization positions) Bachelor's degree required-Master's degree preferred Knowledge of non-profit/social sector; experience working with underserved or disadvantaged populations is a plus High proficiency in effective writing and communication Demonstrated success in managing or overseeing research, evaluation, or performance management projects, including experience supervising staff, project budgeting and planning, and managing Ability to develop strong relationships within a fast-paced, collaborative setting that values diverse opinions; enthusiasm for helping drive change as UMOM becomes a more data-driven organization Data-Driven Evaluation, Reporting, and Monitoring Experience in design and modification of program logic models/theory of change models or similar planning documentation.
Knowledge of program evaluation concepts and applications; experience and/or leadership in conducting developmental, formative, and summative evaluations.
Understanding of and experience with organizational learning and change Strong technical skills in quantitative analysis with the ability to balance highly detailed information with a bigger-picture view of how it relates to larger organizational goals or issues.
Ability to translate complex data for stakeholders who have differing levels of familiarity with data Computer skills Proficiency with applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook Previous experience with Efforts to Outcomes (ETO), Apricot, and/or HMIS is preferred Compliance Comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements.
Including but not limited to: Possessing and maintaining an Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Arizona Department of Child Services Central Registry Check, pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested.
Valid AZ driver's license and a driving record that falls within UMOM's policy 50/100 level of car insurance coverage (mileage reimbursement available) This position is classified as a safety sensitive position.
