The Front-End Developer is responsible for developing and enhancing websites and user interfaces for web-based applications.
The Front End Developer is able to translate high-level requirements into functional and responsive designs using front-end development methodologies and apply front end standards for the related system they are working in to maintain consistency.
This person also implements UX Mockups and creates re-usable components, maintains component libraries and supports full stack developers on Front End changes.
A crucial part of this role is supporting Desert Financial and external clients with Vue.
js scripts and basic Java batch scripts that reside within our Core Platform to best meet the need of a request.
What you will do here:
Collaborate with other developers to maintain and extend style guides and templates for scalability, cross application use, responsive and adaptive views for Mobile / Tablet and rebranding / scaling for multiple clients.
Take wireframes, mockups, and prototypes; convert to HTML5, CSS and Vue.
js components – work to maintain and support a common component library.
Successfully apply Front End Development standards with front end technologies and tools approved for use in the standards.
Extend knowledge of front end technologies, industry standards, and coding best practices including accessibility.
Develop innovative user experiences within new and existing applications, websites and scripts utilizing programming languages such as HTML 5, CSS, Vue.
js and JavaScript for multiple projects while meeting deadlines and according to specifications.
Support clients by creating scripts for vendor systems leveraging HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Vue.
js, Java, etc within the system to achieve business goals.
Provide support to peer developers to leverage new technologies, standards and best practices for Front-End development.
Participate in and apply our standards for code reviews, Agile and SDLC practices.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Applied Science BAS in Internet and Web Development, Human-Computer Interaction, computer science, Engineering or related field preferred; Equivalent combination of education and experience required.
1+ years experience with Javascript/JQuery, CSS/HTML5 and Agile Development (SCRUM) required.
Financial Industry Experience preferred.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of user-centered design principles and modern UI/UX patterns required.
Self-motivated; able to organize and manage multiple tasks and projects with minimal supervision required.
Knowledge and experience with mobile and web design standards and technologies: HTML5, CSS3 (various stylesheet languages such as LESS, SASS, and XSL), JQuery, Javascript (various libraries such as Mustache, Handlebars and ExtJS), Javascript Data Visualization libraries (d3.
js, 3.
js), front-end frameworks (such as Angular and Bootstrap) required.
Knowledge and experience with content management systems (CMS) such as Optimizely, Sitecore preferred.
Proficient using visual design and wire-framing tools preferred.
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience communicating with clients to gather or clarify requirements and facilitating collaboration across groups of people and organizations required.
Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively required.
Ability to juggle many complex projects, all with strict deadlines, simultaneously required.
