Business Systems Analyst 3 Who are we looking for? Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Business Systems Analyst 3 in the Revenue Management - Product Management team.
As a member of the Revenue Management - Product Management team, the Business Systems Analyst 3 is a key contributor to multiple scrum teams and serves as a technical liaison to the Product Manager, the business product owner, and the technology development team and translates customer business needs into well-defined user stories through a consistent process of building collaborative relationships, analyzing, and modeling requirements, and ensuring that designs and implementations fully meet defined business objectives.
The Business Systems Analyst 3 assists the software development teams from project inception to launch, ensuring that the business needs are met.
The Business Systems Analyst 3 is a project/feature subject matter expert.
The Business Systems Analyst 3 researches and recommends process and tool improvements.
Your Responsibilities Creates user stories and/or use cases by decomposing high-level information into details and documents with well-defined, testable acceptance criteria.
Gains a thorough understanding of customer request via analysis and interviews with product owners or key business stakeholders and subject matter experts to fully manage user stories from inception through acceptance.
Ensures that the technical solutions meet the functional design and business customer needs.
Create/maintain project’s documentation and resiliency/supportability acceptance criteria.
Understands and communicates cross feature, functionality, and project dependencies.
Understands enterprise services and the service portfolio and works with technical leads to recommend the use of services in projects.
Understand and articulate story/functionality/project dependencies on both system and dependent teams.
Collaborates with developers, architects, and other subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and to analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
Assists with resiliency operational support, system behavior diagnosis, and troubleshooting efforts.
Works independently on larger, moderately complex assignments that have a direct impact on the department.
May spearhead or lead a major project of work on most levels unsupervised and requires minimal guidance.
Assists in API documentation and data mapping.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field, from a four-year college or university, or a combination of equivalent education and/or work experience.
Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in agile software development.
Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of the software development lifecycle including agile software development methodologies: design, functional and technical requirements, coding, debugging, testing, release, and operational support Demonstrated knowledge with one or more of the following technologies required: One or more scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby, PowerShell, or Groovy) oroService Oriented Architecture (SOA) and object-oriented programming methodologies oroConfiguration management and deployment automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or Chef.
Previous experience supporting, developing, or analyzing highly transactional, mission-critical, enterprise-level applications.
Demonstrated understanding of the Product Management discipline.
Demonstrated understanding of systems development and input/output modeling.
Understanding of message processing UIs such as SoapUI or ReadyAPI for functional API testing.
Demonstrated understanding of API design, documentation and data mapping using tools such as SoapUI, Postman, ReadyAPI, or OpenAPI for functional API testing.
Demonstrated experience in writing SQL queries.
Demonstrated knowledge of business process management methodologies and best practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of database management system technologies and tools.
Understanding of cloud providers and technology.
Your Team This position reports to the Technology Leader and is an individual contributor with no direct reports.
Your Work Location As our Business Systems Analyst 3, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art technology hub in Scottsdale, AZ.

Right now, our associates in Scottsdale, AZ are working in a hybrid environment, up to 4 days per week in the office and virtual from your home office the remaining days.
