Role / Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Oracle Software Engineer.
The applications are web-based, image and workflow-enabled and support a broad range of Client activities.
Required skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (minimum 3 years experience in Information Technology)
Minimum 3 years experience in Web deployed Oracle Forms and Reports development
Minimum 3 years experience using Oracle databases
Minimum 3 years experience in writing PL/SQL
Minimum 3 years experience using software development methodologies to perform analysis, design, construction and implementation of custom software
Preferred skills
Experience using Agile methodology is a plus
Experience designing systems around the use of automated workflow, document imaging, and custom business applications is a plus
Experience in the Financial/Retirement sector, including administration of retirement systems and/or health insurance is a plus
Proven ability to multi-task on concurrent projects
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Participation in continued education will be considered a plus
Responsibilities
Maintain existing Oracle Forms and Reports applications
Work on production support and trouble shoot production issues.
Develop SQL, PL/SQL scripts for data analysis and data cleanup as needed.
Work with Business Analysts and business users to understand problems, enhancements and data changes requested.
Work with Quality Assurance and Release Coordinator to transition changes made from development to system test and to production.
Use incident tracking system JIRA to document changes made and progress
Use software version control Mercurial to track code changes.
