The Email Security Architect is responsible for support, maintenance and direction of EMCOR’s Email Security Applications and Technologies.
This includes enhancing the information security management framework, supporting the vendor risk management process, and monitoring external threats.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -
Develop, configure, deploy, and maintain EMCOR’s Proofpoint and Zap deployments
Develop and maintain technical documentation for the configuration and use of email security systems
Manage the partner relationship between EMCOR and Proofpoint
Coordinate with Proofpoint and EMCOR teams to address and resolve any email system issues, deploy new functionality, and address emerging/existing threats
Manage, maintain, and patch EMCOR’s Proofpoint Infrastructure
Coordinate the deployment of updates to Proofpoint systems with other EMCOR organizations
Participate in email security technology events to better understand the technology purchased by EMCOR
Develop and deploy automation to address ongoing security threats
Make recommendations to Security and Collaboration teams on the use of Proofpoint technology to protect EMCOR from internal and external threats
Monitor the external environment for emerging threats and trends, and advise relevant stakeholders on the appropriate courses of action
Provide reporting of trends for employee behaviors for executive management
Act as single point of internal expertise for email security systems
Monitor and evaluate logs from Proofpoint system for security issues
Participate in security exercises
Work with the security department to continually improve the security program
Qualifications: -
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Proofpoint Systems including Targeted Attack Protection (TAP), Threat Response Auto-Pull (TRAP), and Secure Email Relay (SER)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in information technology
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Security Tools (Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, etc.
)
Strong understanding of DKIM, SPF, DMARC, email spoofing, and email authentication/encryption
Strong understanding of mail flow and email systems
CISSP or GSEC certification or higher education is preferable
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with personnel at all levels
Strong project management skills
Must be capable of delivering an extremely high level of customer service
Ability to draft and maintain technical documentation of the Email Security Design, Connections and underlying components.
