About the Team

Our Technology team has 4 different departments: Information Security, IT Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, and IT Commerce & Customer Engagement.

About the Location Hybrid Position: This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs.
A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity.
Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.
About the Job Summary/Purpose: We are seeking a Sr.
Software Engineer for PetSmart’s Customer Care Technology team.
This role will be responsible for designing, developing and supporting software and integrations within the Customer Care Technology stack, including the core CRM application our internal and third-party agents use to service our Pet Parents.
Essential Functions: Responsible for full SDLC of solutions from requirements to support.
Collaborate with analysts, product managers and architects to understand requirements and design, lead implementation and guide testing efforts as needed.
Collaborate with several cross-functional teams and developers to produce high-quality back-end solutions.
Analyze business requirements, provide development estimates and feedback, and determine proper implementation.
Maintain, support, troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize existing and future applications.
Work with other cross-functional teams to design and implement quality software solutions.
Research and recommend new tools and technologies to keep development on the cutting edge.
Coach Jr.
and Mid-level developers including contractors.
Conduct developer peer reviews.
Design, develop and deliver automated workflow solutions.
Create integrations with other systems and applications to build a single view of the Pet Parent for our Customer Care agents.
Create reports and dashboards.
Provide maintenance and support of Customer Care CRM solution.
Minimum Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience.
Must have 5 years of experience in: Computer programming and analysis Object oriented programming language(s) Containerized application development and cloud deployment Automated unit testing and CI/CD tools Consuming RESTful API’s and building and managing API gateways Conducting peer review code to ensure standards are maintained and using code versioning tools such as GIT to ensure code adheres to guidelines and best practices SQL relationship databases and no-SQL document databases (such as MongoDB) Experience with the ServiceNow platform is preferred, but not required.
