We are seeking a Software Support Engineer to join our Technical Product Support (TPS) group.
As a Software Support Engineer, you will work with our customers as a system level expert focused on product support for new product development with a focus on software.
This role will require up to 50% domestic and international travel (depending on product cycle).
This role will not consider candidates who will require sponsorship.
Responsibilities:
Interact with Software, Hardware, Electrical, Controls, and Process engineering teams to become the system level expert on new products being developed.
Develop SW procedures and documents best known methods for Software Upgrade & Config Update tasks.
Detailed Reporting of SW related field issues with single slide summary and uploaded onto Jira database.
Drive and own customer SW issues on new products during the Alpha build and test phase as well as during beta testing at customer sites.
Continually manage project scope and changes while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.
Manage ongoing quality control (bug reports) and participate in quality control resolutions (5 whys)
Deliver progress reports and organize meetings to align all stakeholders on priority for upcoming Software releases.
Review software configuration and/or reconfiguration requests in order to validate modification demands.
Education and Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, or another Engineering degree with a strong focus in software.
Programming language knowledge, including but not limited to C,C++, C#, Python and/or Delphi (Pascal).
0-2+ years work experience with software and hardware.
Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
High motivation, enthusiasm, and curiosity to learn.
Interested in working with new products, testing them and becoming a system level expert.
Course work experience or interest in Arduino an open-source electronic prototyping platform enabling users to create interactive electronic objects is a plus.
Ability to travel (domestic and international) 25-75%
