SUMMARY: The TOA, CTE Curriculum Content Specialist for Industrial Services will work with the following areas: Construction Services, Manufacturing Services, Transportation Services, and other related areas.
The TOA, CTE Curriculum Content Specialist for Industrial Services serves as a facilitator and resource person who works in conjunction with teachers, CTE department staff, and various District departments to enhance teacher effectiveness and support the implementation and integration of CTE state, District, and industry standards/curriculum in their respective areas.
The specialist works with other specialists and teachers in researching, developing, and/or acquiring aligned curricular resources and assessments to be implemented in the classroom; and will evaluate, review, and revise scope and sequences and lesson plans to ensure they align to state and industry standards.
The TOA, CTE Curriculum Content Specialist is proficient with technology integration and will support teachers with content development for the District's learning management system.
The TOA, CTE Content Specialist is required to solve problems that range from small job-specific tasks to broader, more complex issues.
The specialist must be able to assess situations, analyze information, and develop solutions quickly to resolve problems as they arise, all the while supporting teaching and learning within the Career and Technical Education Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides curriculum support to teachers and assists in aligning curriculum resources to program scope and sequences, and lesson plans.
Provides technology integration support, which includes, but not limited to, assisting teachers develop courses and content on the District's learning management system.
Researches the safest, most cost-effective, and appropriate materials needed for their programs, and procures quotes from District vendors following all purchasing guidelines.
Assists director in accomplishing state and federal accountability goals, program compliance, and performance measures.
Establish and coordinate activities for the recruitment of business/industry representatives for involvement in partnerships, CTE advisory committees and work-based learning experiences.
Serves as the key liaison regarding the assigned content area/programs to appropriate stakeholders including AZ CTE Curriculum Consortium, other curriculum support, and the Arizona Department of Education to communicate curriculum and standards to teachers.
Provides leadership and works effectively as part of the Teaching and Learning Divison to enhance cross-discipline integration.
Coordinates the writing and revision of District curricula in the content area.
Coordinates the adoption of textbook, technological, and other material needs of the teachers in the content area.
Assists with the coordination of the annual follow-up placement survey of District CTE program graduates/withdrawals and provides required documentation for the upload to the Arizona Department of Education.
Coordinates teacher (and other staff as needed) professional development related to the content area.
Performs other duties related to CTE Federal and State requirements, as assigned by the Director for CTE.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines Possess an Arizona Secondary Teaching Certification.
Career and Technical Education Teaching Certification in an approved content area.
Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience at the high school level.
Experience in a variety of instructional delivery methods, adult learning, group facilitation, and use of technology in instruction.
Experience in developing and delivering professional development for teachers and related staff.
Experience working in a complex, fast-paced work environment.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with others.
Possess knowledge of instructional needs of diverse populations.
Demonstrate a commitment to the attainment of Federal and State grant requirements, goals and objectives (i.
e.

License and Certification Requirements: A valid Arizona State Driver's License is required.
