The Digital Principal Android Engineer II, reporting to the Executive Director, Flagship Mobile Apps, will work on the team that brings CVS customers their “Super app” – the customer-facing Flagship CVS Shopping and Pharmacy apps.
As a Digital Principal Android Engineer II, you will be directly developing and landing ambient digital Pharmacy Initiatives.
You will compile research and technologies across the organization into one cohesive technical roadmap.
You will prove out ambient projects that address our customer challenges.
You will be heavily involved in contributing to SuperApp features along with APIs integration.
Also making sure app is accessible and secure by performing the security and a11y compliance.
You will have an opportunity to provide strategic leadership for the software development of our application products that leverage advance technologies.
As a Digital Principal Android Engineer II you will be mentoring/guiding team members, helping drive development decisions, and assisting with architecture design decisions.
In this role, you will demonstrate executive level qualities, lead the conversation, have an eye for great design, Hands-on coding as required and a knack for pushing projects from conception to customers.
As a Principal Android Dev Engineer II, you will partner with Value Architects, Product and Engineer teams in order to articulate the true total value of each technical solution and the overall business outcome.
This position can be based at one of the Digital office locations in IL, RI, MA, AZ, TX and can work in hybrid model.
Roles and Responsibilities: • Provide technical vision, drive strategy around solutions, solve complex problems, and successfully execute across the apps and more.
• Act as an executive technical leader across strategic efforts, leveraging partners, technical leads, and technical expertise to better inform processes and outcomes.
• Act as a technical owner across strategic efforts involving the new modern technology like AI, ML based features and more.
• Partner with technical leaders within CVS and the open-source community and contribute to product strategy, frameworks, roadmap definition, and requirements-gathering.
• Provide domain knowledge and engineering insight to guide early designs, accelerate project decision-making, and maintain close oversight of technical execution.
• Encourage and maintain engineering excellence on the team to build reliable distributed systems that our customers can build their business on • Become a trusted decision-maker for important projects with high technical or outcome risk.
• Develop mindshare by collaborating and discussing ideas.
• Plot and execute on the path from prototype to production for features.
• Bring passion, energy and excitement to the team and organization.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with multiple priorities.
Required Qualifications: · 10+ years of experience in systems analysis and mobile application development.
· 10+ years pf experience managing large software development teams.
· 10+ years’ experience in building Enterprise solutions and managing client requirements and technical solutions.
· 7+ years of experience in Android app development tools, building reusable frameworks and design systems solution architecture.
· 7+ years of development experience in one or more of the following languages: Kotlin/Compose, Java.
· 5+ years of experience with Agile software development · 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role worked on any of the following CircleCi, GIT, Sonar, Jenkins, Maven, Docker, Artifactory.
· 2+ years of experience worked on CICD Pipeline automation and play store upload process.
· 2+ years of experience with A11y, telemetry & Observability.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working across research and engineering.
• Experience in the health and wellness domain.
• Ability to influence and inspire teams to align technical direction.
• Ability to create and execute on roadmaps that consider both progress and innovation as well as the need to scale reliably.
• Have contributed to open-source technology and Developed patents.
• Experience with build systems on highly modularized apps (Gradle, custom plugins, JFrog) • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and achieve broader organizational goals.

00 - $280,000.
00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
