As part of a cross-functional team including business analysts, a product manager, and academic leaders, this business analyst will work to develop leading edge products that help students select their programs of study, plan their academic careers, and make the most of their transfer credits.
To devise new solutions, business analysts interview users and leaders to determine requirements, work with developers to formalize specifications, design quality assurance procedures, and advocate for users as they track projects to completion.
For existing processes and technologies, business analysts support end users through on-boarding, training, troubleshooting, and managing enhancements to meet users’ changing needs.

Salary Range $54,375 - $70,000 per year; DOE Close Date 20-December-2023 Category 02 Essential Duties Consults with front-line staff, managers and leaders to understand business needs for new processes or process improvements; conducts requirements gathering and solution design to meet those needs Documents user requirements using interviews, surveys, user observation, use cases, and user stories Supports end users with on-boarding, training, and troubleshooting as needed Serves as a liaison between functional/user teams and IT teams Writes business process documentation Coordinates with development teams to ensure technical specifications achieve functional requirements to meet user needs Consults with subject matter experts to coordinate security design and devise appropriate user roles Devises and sometimes executes test plans for quality assurance Supports users in developing reports and metrics May query and analyze data to create documentation and make recommendations for data preservation, integration and governance protocols Manages projects as needed, monitoring implementation plans and project issues to help ensure completion of all project tasks in a timely manner Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years of experience in procedural, management or systems analysis work; OR, Six (6) years of experience in procedural, management, or systems analysis work; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/ or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications Ability to perform effectively as a member of a team Ability to work in an environment subject to tight deadlines and potentially changing or conflicting priorities Experience in solving complex problems Experience explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences through spoken, written and visual communication Experience coordinating complex projects Experience with communication technologies (for example: email marketing solutions, content management systems, web development) Experience with database and analytical technologies (for example: databases, business intelligence solutions, data visualization) Knowledge of research methods Knowledge of technical writing and/or process diagramming and documentation Knowledge of ASU’s organizational structure and/or higher education administration Working Environment Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting.
Activities include evaluating information and interfaces that are primarily visual using computer workstations and mobile devices.
Required to travel moderate distances on campus and between campuses to perform work.
Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include resolution of conflicts.
