Summary: Software Engineering Internship within our US Design Division.
This opportunity is temporary employment for engineering students who are seeking a summer internship.
This is a paid internship for 40 hours (except holidays) and will begin in May or June, 2023 and then concludes at the end of August, 2023.
This position can work out of Rochester, MN, Winona, MN, or Arden Hills, MN.
Essential Functions: The position requires the candidate to be at least a junior in a 4 year software (or related) engineering program or related field of study.
Designs software for customers’ products and related applications.
Coordinates software engineering strategies.
The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated software engineering student who is ready for a challenging internship in a fast-paced, electronics design environment.
Skills Required: Design and document software for customer products and/or related applications to support the manufacturing environment, if applicable, meeting both the customers’ requirements and internal manufacturing requirements.
Provide assistance to the Hardware Design, Mechanical Design, Printed Circuit Board Design, Functional Test and In-Circuit Test for product, test and tooling development .
Perform basic evaluation of quality measurements on software code design in accordance with a verification plan.
Create basic documentation related to a software design project.
Contact and work with hardware, software and equipment vendors.
Follow project plan and report project status to leadership.

Essential Functions: Engineering activities for an intern will be prioritized based on customer needs.
Based on project availability and need, the expected activities for an intern to support customer-based projects include: Schematic Capture and updates from Engineering mentor.
Bill of Material generation, maintenance, and review.
Datasheet checking and organization.
Customer based component specification documents.
Executing verification tests.
Internal projects existing if customer related activities are not available include: Reference design schematic capture, BOM, specification sheets, etc.
Weekly meetings occur with the EE group to determine availability and customer needs.
Based on these meetings, workload will be evaluated and prioritized for an intern to keep customer projects on track as well as complete internal projects as needed for the engineering department.

This is a paid internship for 40 hours (except holidays) and begins in May/June 2023 and ends in August 2023.
Skills Required: Designs and develops customer products and the design of test fixtures and manufacturing tooling.
Performs basic to high complexity design assignments.
The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated industrial engineering and stats student who is ready for a challenging internship in a fast-paced, electronics manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions: Focus on mechanical design and documentation for customer products and/or related tooling, resulting in a product or tooling that supports the manufacturing environment, if applicable, to meet both the customers’ requirements and the internal manufacturing requirements.
Develop basic drawings of components and assemblies.
Make Engineering computations and write/edit specifications.
Create modified basic designs for new or existing products and tooling.
Verify completed work, checking dimensions, materials to be used and quantities per the verification plan.
Interact with vendors to ensure proper fabrication of mechanical components for product, testers and tooling.
Create and maintain basic engineering drawings.
Assist assembly of tooling, test fixtures and prototypes.
Perform basic to intermediate drafting and design duties such as tolerance analysis, material selection, and selection of fabrication methods.
