ASU Enterprise Technology (ET) develops, operates, supports, and advises on innovative technology used by ASU to advance discoveries and the student experience.
ET is seeking a driven IT professional to work on the Application Administration Services team as part of a group providing customer support, guidance, and oversight to a number of different technology situations.
This person will coordinate with associated IT teams to provide management of IT systems leveraged by the University Police Department for critical operations.
The Systems Analyst Senior will develop strategic partnerships with the Police Department and their vendors to implement and support IT solutions.
The Systems Analyst Senior provides support to users of information technology tools.
Work typically involves a combination of providing expert advice and troubleshooting on one or more software products; administering and maintaining share-use systems; communicating with and providing instruction to users and user groups on technology topics; and evaluating, recommending, and installing technological solutions to new problems or situations.

Salary Range Depends on experience Close Date 19-March-2024 Category 02 Essential Duties Provides leadership to a system project team for system development, analysis, design, review and testing.
Maintains a high degree of technical knowledge and expertise on a group of technology products or on a technology platform through research, personal use, vendor presentations, and training.
Leads support for the product group platform, including publicity, training, expert trouble-shooting and advice, vendor interface and advocacy.
Performs the design, development, implementation, operation and maintenance of computer and business systems to meets user needs.
Uses applications software such as distributed network systems, database management systems, Web page development tools, desktop publishing tools, and presentation tools to develop custom products to meet user needs.
Advises customers on standard tools and combinations of tools that are available or can be purchased or developed to meet specific needs.
Configures, installs and upgrades computer hardware and software, which may include computer network hardware and software.
Tests newly set up equipment to assure that it works in coordination with other associated hardware and software products.
Identifies causes of problems when hardware and software are not operating properly and takes appropriate action.
Repairs or resolves a wide variety of problems and confers with or escalates problems to vendors, contractors, or others in the university to assure that resolution is reached.
Coordinates with other information technology organizations including the central IT organization to ensure optimal use and efficiency of computer and related resources.
Develops and improves user systems procedures, and prepares systems documentation.
In the review of existing systems and processes, applies the techniques and principles of process and procedure reengineering in the design and development of new systems and process.
Where possible develops and recommends alternative solutions to existing systems and processes.
Mentors, trains, schedules, and leads staff responsible for delivering various routine services.
Develops and delivers instructional training on the use of supported technology products and systems, and provides personalized instruction one-on-one to meet specialized needs.
Develops and prepares operational plans and reports on project status.
Establishes and maintains effective communications with customers, other technology specialists, and vendors about services.
Collaborates and teams with others on a variety of technology and technology support projects.
Assists in the development of long-range goals and short-range objectives.
Prepares project plans, which include cost and staffing requirements.
Monitors project time reporting and prepares status reports.
Writes and/or updates detailed user documentation and manuals for operational applications, including data flow illustrations; distributes or arranges distribution of system documentation.
Conducts special projects/research as requested.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field AND four (4) years experience providing information technology services; OR, Eight (8) years experience providing related information technology services, OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience.
Desired Qualifications Experience in public safety.
Knowledge of police or fire department operations and dispatch preferred.
Experience with Windows and Linux systems administration.
Exposure to administration of modern application architectures.
Familiarity with enterprise storage offerings including on-prem, cloud, and hybrid.
Familiarity with networking and firewall administration.
Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse populations of varying technical proficiencies.
Ability to translate user needs into technical solutions.
Experience building both formal and informal professional networks.
Experience maintaining cooperative and collaborative working relationships with clients and among team members.
Experience translating up-to-date information into continuous improvement activities that enhance performance.
Experience making decisions in a changing environment and anticipating future needs.
Experience in voluntarily identifying and addressing existing and potential obstacles, issues, and opportunities.
Experience in both verbal and written communication.
Experience with handling sensitive issues and information with confidentiality and discretion.
Experience working independently, following directions, multitasking, providing attention to detail, and handling projects with tight deadlines.
Knowledge of the risks and opportunities involved in the use of various technologies.
Knowledge of ASU including policies, relationships, dependencies, and the ability to identify key individuals within various business units.
Knowledge of the ET Service and Product catalog and the various support teams within ET.
Knowledge of project management principles a plus.
Working Environment Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
Clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
