About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) on our dynamic SRE team with focus on using software engineering to enable automation and efficiency in all aspects of platform change management and operations.
The Staff SRE will write, test and deploy software to optimize day-to-dayactivities of support product roll out and operation reliability.
You will have opportunities to work across a spectrum of devsecops challenges and implementation to enhance product delivery, operation engineering workflow and production stability.
With senior team member guidance and direction, you will work to implement technology solutions to maximize performance and availability of our environment In this role, you will: Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and projects associated with the technology domain, including installation, upgrades, and deployment efforts Identify opportunities for service quality and availability improvements within the technology domain environment Design, code, test, debug, and document for low to moderately complex projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments Review and analyze technical assignments or challenges that are related to low to medium risk deliverables and that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternative technology domains Present recommendations for resolving issues or may escalate issues as needed to meet established service level agreements Exercise some independent judgment while also developing understanding of given technology domain in reference to security and compliance requirements Provide information to technology colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders Automation: implement orchestration and tooling solutions to ensure that repetitive administration tasks are performed at a high level of efficiency and free of defect Collaborate with other engineering practices to implement monitoring and recovery tools to provide for site high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) Measure and monitor availability and overall system and environment health Enhance and apply continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and templates to support deployment and release process Collaborate with operation engineers to deploy releases to QA-production environment according to release plan Ensure that releases are deployed to production correctly and reliably as planned Assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis Other tasks as assigned Required Qualifications: 2+ years of software engineering experience, infrastructure design, system engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications: Familiar with SRE methodologies and passionate about solving operation problems through automation and software engineering Ability to manage competing priorities and work well under pressure Ability to communicate effectively vertically and horizontally within the organization via demonstrated written and verbal communication skills Intermediate coding skills with at least one of the modern programming languages: Python, Go, Ruby, Java, C# Intermediate level of Linux/Unix and shell scripting skills Demonstrable experience in testing methodology, testing automation framework Hands on experience working with Azure or Google Cloud preferred but will consider any other public cloud providers experience Comfortable with at least one of configuration management or provisioning tool experiences with Terraform, Ansible, Salt, Puppet or Kubernetes configuration tools such as Helm Knowledge and experience with release software tooling - at least one of the following: Github Actions, Gitlab Jenkins, Harness, Spinnaker or other Cloud specific release tooling such as Azure Release Management, Google Cloud Build Fully hands on comfortable with Kubernetes administration and operation tasks using CLI and Kubenertes tools and popular framework (Kubectl, Kubectx, Kubens etc.
