Summary The Maintenance Procedure Writer II provides expertise to station organizations in the development, revision, and maintenance of programs, processes, and procedures supporting station maintenance, operations, and programs.
Serves as a technical expert for craft or operational area; performs editorial and technical reviews.
Maintains expert knowledge of the stations Administrative Control Program while performing functions supporting the procedure process.
Ensures documents comply with current procedure standards, supports the needs of requesting organizations and complies with current administrative controls, Unit Operating Licenses and other regulations and commitments.
The Maintenance Procedure Writer III provides technical leadership to station organizations in the development, revision, and maintenance of programs, processes and procedures supporting station maintenance, operations, and programs.
Provides technical expertise for craft; performs editorial and technical reviews.
Maintains expert knowledge of the stations Administrative Control Program while performing functions supporting the procedure process.
Ensures documents comply with current procedure standards, support the needs of requesting organizations, and comply with current administrative controls, Unit Operating Licenses and other regulations and commitments.
May develop schedule and define scope for administrative and technical procedure changes and manages writing schedules to meet aggressive deadlines.
Supports industry peers by participating in Benchmarks and Industry Assessments.
Demonstrated ability to meet with all levels of management and to effectively represent and negotiate issues and concerns.
Minimum Requirements High school diploma/GED plus seven (7) years applicable trade experience (Electrical, Maintenance or I&C).
OR, AAS degree in Engineering or related physical science plus five (5) years' experience in maintenance, engineering and/or nuclear plant operations as a technician, engineer or operator.
OR, Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related physical science from an accredited college or university plus three (3) years' experience in maintenance, engineering and/or nuclear plant operations as a technician, engineer or operator.
Must meet requirements to enter Security protected and vital areas of the Radiologically Controlled Access (RCA) areas.
Must become qualified NYR01, Procedure Preparer within three (3) months of assuming position.
Must achieve Procedure Professional Association (PPA) Writer Certification within one (1) year of assuming position.
III Minimum Requirements High school diploma/GED plus completion of Electrical, Mechanical or I&C apprenticeship program and eight (8) years applicable trade experience.
OR, Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related physical science from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years' experience in maintenance, engineering and/or nuclear plant operations as a technician, engineer or operator.

Experience in preparing descriptive copy using publishing tools and writer guidelines and document verification.

Skilled in the use of computers.
Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
These are conditions of employment at PVNGS.
Major Accountabilities 1) Interfaces with statiaon organizations as required preparing assigned procedures and resolving technical problems to support the 12-week schedule, emergent work; short notice and refueling outages.
2) Serves on special projects, training programs, investigations and corrective action teams.
3) Provides technical expertise to station management to ensure procedures are technically sound and the bases are appropriately implemented.
4) Provides experience and operating philosophy to efficiently evaluate, plan, and develop procedure changes to ensure station commitments, schedules and budget are met.
5) Provides maintenance personnel with information about nuclear power plant systems, applicable codes, regulations, industry standards and station policies, programs and procedures.
6) Develops schedules and defines scope for procedure changes and manages writing schedules to meet aggressive deadlines.

Hybrid Role: This position combines working in the office and at home, based on the needs of the business.
The schedule will be determined with the hired employee and leadership, but the ultimate decision is the company's.
Any PVGS employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours.
Employees, if off-site, must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified.
Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
