*Position: Engineering Manager *
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Manage a 9-person global team and oversee 140 employees on-site (single shift) within a $250 million corporation poised for high growth.

* Cultivate and mentor a high-performing team, fostering an environment of professional growth and achievement.
* Establish a dedicated design function to replace previous reliance on generalists.
* Address cultural inertia and build and staff this new function effectively.
* Streamline inefficient workflow processes and address large, dated work backlogs.
* Elevate customer service standards and ensure on-time delivery through strategic planning.
* Instill a culture of continuous improvement and lean practices to drive operational excellence.
* Report directly to the Director of Engineering.
*Qualifications:*
* 5+ years of engineering experience (prefer at least a couple as practicing design engineer).
* 2+ years management experience in highly regulated industry (not automotive).
* Bachelor’s degree (mechanical engineering preferred.
Very practical electrical, materials, or physics considered).
*Desired Technical Attributes:*
* Practical experience as a design engineer, preferably mechanical.
* Knowledge of electrical, materials, or physics backgrounds considered.
* Understanding of the product life cycle from ideation to manufacturing.
* Ability to apply this understanding to our specific processes, products, and markets.
*Desired Personal Attributes:*
* Mature personality with the ability to mentor junior technical staff.
* Act as a key liaison for AZ facility, fostering clear and open communication.
* Strong tactical leadership with strategic planning capabilities.
* Proficient in change management and "leading from the front".
* Excellent communication skills across all levels, internally and externally.
* Able to find order in chaos in real-time without excessive reliance on meetings.
