00 (DOE) Grade: 29 Open Until Filled Job Summary: The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) is actively searching for an Engagement Manager to be a vital member of the Strategic Enterprise Technology (ASET) Division, specifically within the Business Engineering Department.
This crucial position serves as the primary point of contact for ASET with its clients, including various agencies, boards, and commissions.
The successful applicant will be responsible for closely working with ASET’s diverse team, including technical and business analysts, strategic consultants, along with the network and operations teams.
The role entails providing training and developing standardized processes to streamline the workflow of the Engagement Managers' team.
This effort is aimed at ensuring all team members are effectively trained to represent ASET accurately.
As an Engagement Manager, the candidate will be expected to establish themselves as a trusted and preferred advisor, fostering valuable partnerships with clients and effectively communicating ASET’s offerings to all agency customers.

Job Duties: Monitors and Provides technical oversights for assigned Agencies projects/programs.
Works directly with agencies/Customers to address critical project issues and/or other program support, including enterprise-level application support.
Creates standard processes for all Engagement Managers on the team and trains other Engagement Managers as needed.
Manages all key vendor discussions and assists in the development of vendor management contracts internally with a view to provide the contract vehicle as a product or service to Customers.
Reviews, manages and approves Project Investment Justifications (PIJs).
Evaluate IT projects over $1M and make recommendations to the Information Technology Authorization Committee (ITAC).
Collaborates with other divisions within ADOA and establishes processes and touch-points.
Works closely with Strategic, Business, and Technical Analysts within our Customers in developing their IT plans aligned to the vision for the State of Arizona.
Assists Customers with budget requests as necessary to facilitate IT-funding.
Assists Customers with IT-solution identification, vendor selection, and provides high level advice and feedback as required on IT projects.
Responsible for Quarterly Agency Business Reviews.
Creates templates for and then specific proposals and agreements for engagement with ADOA-ASET and is responsible for maintenance of such agreements throughout their life-cycle.
Support other Engagement Managers as needed.
Assists Customers with risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
Performs detailed site surveys to assist with trend analysis for hardware, software, security, applications, licenses, etc.
Has complete knowledge of the service offerings and works closely with other teams and individuals within ADOA-ASET to provide visibility on customer needs and their feedback.
Along with a team of business and technical analysts and experts, provides support to customers on opportunity assessment, end of life, and end of support IT issues.
Is responsible for Account Management including on-boarding, off-boarding, and Intergovernmental Services Agreements (ISAs).
Develops and maintains procedures for interactions between Customers and ADOA-ASET.
Develops and maintains AMS Huddle Board and other key Business Engineering KPIs/metrics to measure the quantitative and qualitative value of the role.
Assists with Customer interaction and management during emergencies.
Contributes to knowledge-base, process maps, and overall maturity of the organization.
Completes other projects and duties as required and assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of: Business Requirements development, as well as design, build, test, configuration, and implementation processes for application and system software and hardware implementation projects.
Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure options, including facilities, computer hardware, systems software, networks, and telecommunications for a variety of platforms; this should include infrastructure support staff, data, operational procedures, financing, and other key components.
Software systems development life cycle and IT evaluation, planning, and procurement development and implementation stages and best practices.
Principles of standard work within the context of Arizona Management Systems (AMS).
Skills in: Command of program/project management, extensive knowledge or management principles, concepts and techniques and their practical application, and a comprehensive knowledge of business practices and processes.
Skilled in applying tools and techniques of project management to negotiate formal acceptance of the scope with stakeholders, and to manage needed changes in scope and deliverables throughout a projects.
Able to create, maintain, and train others on the standard work associated with the Engagement Manager role.
Strong Verbal, written, and presentation & communication Skills.
Ability to: The ability to learn new skills quickly, the ability to develop and adopt appropriate customer engagement strategies that build mutual trust between Customers and ADOA-ASET.
Assist in the development of process maps.
Interface with ADOA Divisions' & customers', sales and technical personnel in a professional manner.
Understand the customer environment.
Puts internal systems and procedures in place to assure that all relevant information is shared consistently.
Apply creative solutions that meet needs and priorities of Customers.
Effectively articulate the relationship between ADOA-ASET and the customers.
Lead virtual team(s) to design solutions for the customers.
Effectively articulate the relationship of the customers' program(s) to other work units/programs.
Selective Preference(s): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields OR at least 10 years of experience in a major discipline related to software development or technical services.
