Job Summary:
At Arizona Heart Rhythm Center (AZHRC) the Billing Supervisor, under the direction of the Sr.
Director, RCM, Director of Operations, Regional VP of Operations, and clinic physicians is primarily tasked with and responsible for managing the administrative responsibilities of billing insurance and processing payments for clients.
In addition, they communicate with patients about outstanding balances, collecting on behalf of their provider institutions as necessary to ensure the patient’s procedures are paid by their insurance company.
Duties:
Must follow all policies, procedures, and other directives from administration to include but not limited to:
o OSHA Safety Manual
o Corporate Compliance Manual
o HIPAA Compliance Manual
o Employee Handbook
o Departmental policies and procedures
· Generate revenue by making payment arrangements, collecting accounts and monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts
· Conducts daily huddles with team to review priorities and to review requirements of the day
· Manages billing team expectations, assigning all work daily within athenaOne claims worklists
· Reviews productivity and verifies that team is staying on task, reporting productivity to Sr.
Director, RCM on a daily basis
· Organizes and completes daily work goals within athenaOne for team
· Review reporting and identifies trends with payers and services
· Assist with creating efficiencies of team
· Works to achieve maximum reimbursement for all services provided by reviewing denial rates and payer trends as well as payer contract payment variances
· Submits appeals when needed
· Resolve insurance denials
· Conduct audits, Medicare and other payer reviews
· Assist in any other projects assigned by management
Skills:
High school diploma or GED.
· General computer skills with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
· Detail-oriented with good analytical and organizational skills.
· Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, staff, physicians, and all levels of management.
· Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams experience
· Minimum of two years experience as a medical billing supervisor and five years medical billing experience
· Medical terminology experience
· Preferred experience:
o Associate’s degree or higher
