Job Overview: The Manager, Treasury is responsible for developing and managing strategies, policies and budgets related to treasury activities including oversight of treasury operations, cash and debt management initiatives, bank relationships, and day-to-day treasury operations.
This position also assesses the products, services, technologies, and systems that are available and appropriate for the treasury department and works with departmental leaders to ensure alignment with company-wide objectives and strategies.
In addition, this role will lead the review, documentation, and change management efforts with respect to maintaining, upgrading, and implementing new processes, systems, and tools in support of a cost effective and efficient treasury function.
This role requires a passion for process improvement, leading and developing teams and collaborating with key business partners including Company executives, FP&A, accounting, tax, legal and the Company’s external auditors and advisors.
The position is based at Leslie’s corporate office in Phoenix, Arizona.
Responsibilities: Manage Treasury related activities including monitoring the daily cash position, cash over/short discrepancies, ACH/Positive Pay maintenance, and supporting decentralized business unit funding needs.
Develop proper cash handling procedures for our retail operations, assist in managing cash deposits, and troubleshoot operations and services issues.
Responsible for bank account management, including opening/closing bank accounts, managing bank account signer changes, and assisting in administration of online banking platforms.
Lead cash management and cash flow forecasting for all business units and entities; build strong relationships across the organization to improve cash forecasting accuracy.
Provide input to capital structure supporting debt management, share repurchases and other activities to ensure the most efficient use of the company’s borrowing capacity and borrowed funds.
Participate in the evaluation of banking relationships and setting the Company’s banking strategy.
Actively support company equity and debt financing strategies, including share repurchase execution and relationships with banks and lending partners.
Provide leadership and treasury expertise to the execution of corporate development transactions including mergers and acquisitions.
Ensure compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and other rules governing cash transactions and banking.
Coordinate with internal /external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasting activities.
Maintain key controls related to treasury accounts and processes, update SOX narratives as needed, and ensure a strong control environment over assigned processes.
Evaluate, develop, implement, and monitor finance, accounting and operational policies and procedures for owned areas, with an emphasis on improving accuracy and timeliness, reducing risk, and strengthening compliance.
Lead the analysis, proposal, and implementation of new programs, systems and tools related to treasury operations, with a focus on high volume retail store and EComm transactions.
Serve as the primary contact for the Treasury department in terms of cross departmental projects; work on strategic projects and other initiatives as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or similar field 5+ years of relevant professional experience leading the corporate treasury function in a public company with multiple locations; retail experience preferred.
Track record of successfully managing a public company corporate treasury function, ensuring best practices for processes and controls.
Negotiating skills and ability to develop strong relationships and partnerships.
Minimum five years of team leadership experience with an emphasis on development and mentorship of direct reports.
Team player with a proactive, hands-on approach; ability to work well with a high level of autonomy and trust.
Advanced to expert competency in Excel and proficient with other Microsoft Office products (e.
g.
, One Note, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience with treasury management systems and banking systems/portals.
Ability to balance attention to detail while managing competing priorities, working with the team to achieve deliverables.
Strong presentation and verbal & written communication skills to guide and educate various stakeholders and teams.
Ability to maintain composure under pressure while meeting deadlines and priorities.
Proven leadership and mentoring skills, self-starter, and team player.
Experience working in a rapidly changing environment and ability to manage multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities, project management experience a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, problem solving, and presentation skills.
Demonstrate the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work independently, with capability of exercising initiative and independent judgment.
