As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will support the Warehouse Manager by executing precise & consistent work at our wholesale building materials distribution center.
The Assistant Warehouse Manager holds the duty of being the point of contact with the customers, the sales team, and the warehouse.
This position is to ensure a smooth process within the warehouse; which may change on a daily basis.
The position includes filing paperwork, delegating tasks to the warehouse, helping your immediate superior, filling in as acting manager when your superior is gone, scheduling inbound and outbound shipments, and helping keep a positive and constructive work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provides backup support to the warehouse manager
Delegation to others when appropriate, using training and coaching techniques
Will provide support when the job requires work to be completed under time pressures or in changing situations
Duties/Responsibilities:
Filing and organizing paperwork
Looking at open orders and writing up reports for the sales team
Checking the status of incoming and outgoing shipments and being able to set up the schedule accordingly
Communicate with all departments and keep everyone up-to-date and on the same page
Set up outgoing shipments with various couriers and companies
Take calls from dispatchers/drivers to schedule shipments coming in
Able to keep an orderly and manageable schedule for the week
Willing to jump in and roll up your sleeves to help out when necessary
Follow safety expectations set by company safety policies
Operate at a steady, even pace to promote accuracy and quality of work
Be friendly and genuinely interested in the business, agenda, and needs of others, including the company, its management, the team, and our customers

Requirements:
Able to pass pre-employment drug screening
Prior management or supervisory experience
Valid Driver's license and acceptable driving record
Experience in logistics, dispatch, and/or warehouse environment
Knowledge of shingles, windows, and general building products helpful
Able to lift 40-80 pounds throughout the workday
Able to walk, bend, lift, and reach for products for up to 8-10 hours per day
Ability to work extended hours and occasional Saturdays
Able to withstand environmental temperatures.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
