The job of Cafe Area Supervisor is done for the purpose/s of:
Maintaining healthy, safe and attractive meals
Assessing, developing and providing on-going training/retraining for department staff
Monitoring the effectiveness of the Nutrition Department
Researching and evaluating new products and equipment
Providing documented inspections and recommendations
Participating in the evaluation and selection of potential new Nutrition Department staff
Supervising department staff ensuring compliance to Federal and State regulations, health code standards and District policies
Providing technical support for WebSMARTT, and supervising additional programs ( Summer, Catering, Farm to School, etc)
Essential Functions:
Acts as a liaison between Nutrition Services cafeterias, Information Technology and Facility Services departments
Assess on-site performance, e.
g.
meal preparation, food production, distribution, reimbursable meals, health standards, etc.
Assess, recommend and procure supplies and equipment, and track equipment performance for all school kitchens; assists with staffing coordination on a daily basis in consideration of site needs
Attends meetings, classes, and state authorized training
Compiles data from multiple sources
Develops and oversees promotional events by creating marketing and educational nutrition materials
Develops and maintains an up-to-date nutrition program, e.
g.
implementing new procedures, products and equipment, etc.
Maintains an up-to-date, uniform and comprehensive nutrition program
Monitors nutrition program, e.
g.
through regular, documented inspections, skills assessments, etc.
Oversees and coordinates major program areas, e.
g.
SBP, NSLP, SFSP, FFVP, etc.
Prepares a variety of reports, e.
g.
staff schedules, assessments, inspections, etc.
Provides technical support, e.
g.
updating, EOY, SOY, hardware and software troubleshooting, wiring, etc.
Supervises assigned nutrition personnel, e.
g.
coordinating schedules, providing training, evaluations, etc.
Transports various items, e.
g.
catering supplies, WebSMARTT equipment, etc.
Assists other personnel, as may be required
Performs other duties, as assigned
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Criminal Justice/fingerprint background clearance
Valid Driver's License & Evidence of Insurability
Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English
Certified Professional Food Manager (CPFM) certification must be obtained within three months of hire
