), Landscape Architecture, Surveying, Hydrology, Environmental science, geology, or related field Seven years of engineering experience, including two years of supervisory or management experience Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, or by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona Registration within six months of employment Job Contributions Supervise and evaluate the work of Engineering Supervisors and other professional staff; effectively recommend personnel actions related to selection, disciplinary procedures, performance, leaves of absence, work schedules, and assignments, and administer personnel and related policies and procedures Oversee the transportation right-of-way permit program assuring processes adhere to all applicable standards and interpret state laws and planning and zoning requirements Prepare and monitor the Division’s operating budget Perform technical and administrative work in the supervision and management of design manuals and standards; franchise agreements; records management; production of technically detailed plans; standards testing, documentation, and assessment or acceptance of products; and management and direction of consultants carrying out design reviews Review, develop, motivate, and mentor staff to achieve objectives and improve performance Oversee the records management program assuring processes adhere to all applicable standards Represent assigned departments at various meetings with other government agencies and the public Apply engineering knowledge in technical transportation areas, such as evaluating the impact of new technology and regulations, including MCPermitting and Geographic Information Systems software Other job duties as assigned Working Conditions Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amounts constantly, or requires walking or standing to a significant degree The position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware Proprietary Permitting software, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam plan review software Selection Procedure Only the most qualified candidates will be considered Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer.
