Maricopa County is also required to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety but may not specifically require a valid CDL We Also Value Three or more years of skilled construction and maintenance experience Job Contributions Lead work crews performing construction and maintenance activities; prioritize and assign tasks; assure that all safety rules and regulations are observed on the job site Operate a variety of trucks, equipment, and hand tools in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures Complete work orders to meet Division standards; prepare daily activity and material and equipment usage reports Supervise the building and maintenance of roadways and structures; maintain landscaping, and clear brush and debris from roadways, medians, and facilities Monitor and enforce adherence to Division policies, procedures, and standards Supervise the repair of roadway surfaces, culverts, shoulders, and guardrails Supervise traffic control activities as needed; report safety hazards; perform tasks in the interest of public safety and property protection during emergencies Conduct weekly meetings with the crew; monitor and promote section safety meetings Transport work crews to and from work sites; instruct crew in the proper use and maintenance of equipment Working Conditions Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor, ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel CDL Selection Procedure Only the most qualified candidates will be considered.
