OVERVIEW:
The Language Access Manager will be responsible for providing full oversight of all language access functions throughout the organization, including interpretation services, program financial management, translation, testing training, vendor management, contracting, budgeting, and language access quality improvement and measurement efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manages and oversees the day-to-day functions of the department and delegates responsibilities to manage business operations.
Coaches, counsels, and develops employees.
Organizes, plans, audits, and oversees all business/financial related activity.
Manages language resources, including vendors for video remote interpreting, over-the-phone interpreting, translation services, and contracted interpreters, to maintain quality and availability.
Monitors and evaluates language access programs and services, including tracking utilization of language services.
Manages language proficiency testing for new and existing employees including coordinating the assessment process, supporting ongoing language skill development, and ensuring that staff members possess the necessary linguistic competencies to provide quality language services to diverse populations.
Oversees the translation process of documents across the organization to ensure accuracy and delivery of excellent services.
Addresses requests and complaints and resolves issues regarding language services.
Manages vendor relationships, reviewing invoices for language services external contractors, and seeking approval.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Performing additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in languages, healthcare, or related field.
2 years of language access or relevant experience in a healthcare or similar field.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of prior leadership experience.
Bilingual in Spanish/English
