American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for an Exceptional Student Services Assistant Director for the 2023-2024 academic school year.
Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
* Oversee special education and 504 compliance for assigned schools by maintaining quarterly monitoring procedures and by managing the census
* Provide training and professional development for staff (paraprofessionals, special education teachers, general education teachers, administrators, etc.
) at assigned schools
* Act as the LEA representative at IEP/MET meetings when necessary
* Oversee ESS staffing for assigned schools in collaboration with the ESS team
* Support school teams in finding solutions to ESS problems as they arise
* Work with special education team to develop special education programs (Autism, Life Skills, ED) including the strategies and curriculum for each
* Assure that approved curriculum is being used in Specially Designed Instruction by designing instructional guidelines in collaboration with curriculum and instruction departments for pull-out, inclusion, resource, and self-contained programs
* Oversee (case management and LEA representative) for privately placed students from assigned schools
* Other duties assigned to one or more Assistant Directors
* Development and management of the Extended School Year (ESY) program
* Oversee alternate assessment including verification of student qualification for the assessment, administration, and data validation
* Manage ESS data from state and district assessments
* Oversee the annual compliance processes such as Post School Outcome Survey, Alternative Assessment, Annual Data Collection, Parent Survey etc.
* Support out of state development
* Support ESS transportation
* Manage 7-12 Course Offerings
* Act as the e-IEPPro coordinator
Qualifications:
* 5 or more years of special education teaching experience
* 2 or more years of leadership experience
* Masters Degree in special education or education leadership preferred
