This industry specialist role as a Workplace Threat Manager requires the ability to think critically, prioritize a global threat management workload, build and develop new processes and programs, communicate with all levels of leadership, and work in a fast-paced and challenging environment that requires significant attention to detail.
Amazon is looking for an experienced Workplace Threat Manager (Industry Specialist) to join the Workplace Incident Management (WIM) program in Goodyear, AZ.
The Workplace Threat Manager is a poised individual with behavioral threat assessment, threat investigation and threat management experience supporting the WIM program and its customers.
The Workplace Threat Manager reviews reported concerns, assesses the level of concern related to risks and threats facing individuals and Amazon, and provides recommended mitigation strategies to stakeholders for the management and remediation of incidents globally.
The Workplace Threat Manager works with multiple stakeholder groups and ensures responses are appropriate according to policies, procedure, and industry best practices.
The Workplace Threat Manager must also deal effectively with ambiguity and make response and mitigation decisions sometimes with incomplete information in the interests of Amazon.
This role will be at forefront of safeguarding our people by identifying and assessing threats, and developing strategies and programs to assure their safety and well-being.
The successful candidate is an experienced threat manager and emerging leader who is a self-starter with a passion for independent, creative problem-solving, possesses strong analytical skills, and is an excellent oral and written communicator.
Must have a proven record of effective leadership capabilities, demonstrate good judgment while under pressure, have relentlessly High Standards and a history of taking Ownership of performance, managing incidents, and demonstrates strong commitment to raise the bar to Deliver Results.
Customer Obsession and an ability to mentor effectively is necessary.
They will also be able to operate autonomously, use discretion when dealing with sensitive and critical information, and apply sound business principles and data analysis to identify problems and initiate actions to address them.
This position is based in Goodyear, Arizona.
Key job responsibilities * Manage highly sensitive and urgent threat of violence concerns, bringing subject matter expertise to effectively assess risk of violence utilizing industry standards and accepted behavioral threat assessment and management methodologies to mitigate threats of targeted violence.
* Be able to work shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Conduct behavioral threat assessments and develop mitigation and management strategies in conjunction with stakeholders and peers * Review, assess, revise, and develop awareness materials in conjunction with providing subject matter expertise to talent development teams to enhance awareness and knowledge across the organization.
* Champion projects, manage and prioritize caseloads, manage case management system, and assist with coaching and mentoring of individuals to support talent and career development to Strive to be the Earth’s Best Employer.
* Build collaborative cross-functional partnerships and contribute to Multi-Disciplinary Teams, within Security groups, Human Resources, Employee Relations, and Legal teams, leading training and awareness sessions to focus on incident prevention and intervention.
* Develop and analyze data and metrics to identify issue trends and opportunities for proactive risk mitigation.
* Analyze trends and provide recommendations to the business to proactively address systematic risks.
* Develop, lead, and support a wide variety of projects intended to support the team’s mission and/or in support of partner and customer teams.
* Consult and collaborate with business partners, stakeholders, Legal teams, and customers on urgent/complex investigations.
* Earn trust of field investigators and influence senior leadership/the business.
* Lead and contribute to innovation and continuous improvement related to identification and reporting of concerns and threat mitigation / management.
* Liaise with multiple layers of global law enforcement and cultivate sustainable relationships with industry experts.
* Deploy for urgent or complex investigations and/or on-site support.
* Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.
About the team Our Workplace Incident Management (WIM) program is part of Amazon’s Global Security Operations (GSO) organization.
We work collaboratively with global security and loss prevention, human resources, operations, and other partners to provide for a safe, secure, and respectful work environment for our over 1.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Goodyear, AZ, USA • Certified Threat Manager (CTM), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or other Threat Management, Security, or HR certifications.
• Advanced degree or other specialized training in psychology, criminal justice, human resources, or related field.
• 5+ years of behavioral threat assessment and violence management or mitigation, threat investigations, security, human resources, or related experience in conducting end-to-end personnel investigations.
• Experience working and operating in a global environment; ideally supporting global threat assessment and management response programs.
• Project management experience and certifications.
• Experience in development and compilation and analysis of data and metrics.
• Continuous or quality improvement certification, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other.
• Fluency in other languages other than English • Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to write clearly and succinctly for senior leadership.
