Job Description: Healthcare Arizona, a premier mattress manufacturing arm of the MLILY company, is a 650,000sq feet manufacturing plant in Goodyear, Arizona.
We manufacture advanced memory foam mattresses that help you sleep cooler and more comfortably through the night so that you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on whatever the day throws at you.
The Production Line Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates the activities of production team members for their assigned area(s), such as Line Leads, Machine Operators, and Production Technicians.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Line Leads, Machine Operators, and Production Technicians Duties/Responsibilities: Enforce safety regulations.
Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures or assign employee training to experienced workers.
Evaluate employee performance.
Confer with management and Human Resources to resolve worker problems or complaints.
Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results.
Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
Set up and adjust machines and equipment.
Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as new hire interview/selection, evaluations, or recommend promotions where appropriate.
Assist in the planning and development of new products and production processes.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, and training.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
Knowledge of principles and methods for teaching and instruction for individuals and groups.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Skilled at giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made.
Skilled at motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
Skilled at talking to others to convey information effectively.
Skilled at managing one's own time and the time of others.
Skilled at monitoring/assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
Skilled at teaching others how to do something.
Skilled at bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences and persuading others to change their minds or behavior.
Skilled at actively looking for ways to help people.
Skilled at identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required (associates or bachelor’s degree preferred) Proficiency in using office software such as EXCEL and PPT.
2+ years leadership experience in manufacturing setting preferred.
Bilingual in English/Mandarin or English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements: Heavy work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work.
The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
