The Veterinary Neurological Center is interested in meeting individuals who are looking to complement our excellent staff in Phoenix.
If you have a genuine concern for pets and want to provide the highest possible care to our clients, patients and referring veterinarians, we invite you to apply for the following position: The Veterinary Neurological Center is currently seeking a highly-skilled Veterinary Neurology Technician, preferably certified, to work alongside our skilled and dedicated support team assisting our neurologists.
A minimum of 2 years experience as a veterinary technician is required.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who has an interest in the field of veterinary neurology, working at an established veterinary specialty practice, and either has, is working towards, or is interested in pursuing their NAVTA VTS certification in internal medicine – neurology.
This individual will contribute primarily as a Technician, but if proven, will have the opportunity to also contribute in a leadership or managerial role as detailed below.

Veterinary Neurology Technician Description: Work with doctors and technicians to help ensure that each neurological patient receives the highest quality care when hospitalized and before, during, and after any anesthetic procedure.
Work efficiently as a team to help plan and organize the day to ensure the smooth and efficient flow and completion of all procedures, treatments, and associated tasks.
Required Proficiencies/Responsibilities: The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate proficiency with the following skills.
Animal Restraint Nursing Jugular Venipuncture IV Catheterization Laboratory Procedures and Maintenance Anesthesia Monitoring Radiology Client Communication Surgical Monitoring Additional Proficiencies/Responsibilities The following skills are not required but would be nice to have.
Training will be offered to those who do not have experience in these areas: +/- CT Scanning +/- CSF Analysis +/- MRI Scanning Essential Qualities: Love and compassion for animals…treat each patient as your own Professional, responsible, and eager to assist technicians and doctors with each case Team-oriented with a positive attitude that facilitates efficiency and contributes to an enjoyable environment Follow proper procedures and question processes if unclear or notice areas of improvement Desire to learn and grow and contribute to an environment based on those ideals Meticulous detail in all aspects of each case Self-motivated to seek out further responsibility, especially during slow periods.
Lead Technician / Technician Manager Description: Additional responsibility will be available to the employee after an initial training period as a Technician, and once the candidate: has become proficient as a Technician at the Veterinary Neurological Center has exhibited excellent leadership qualities actively seeks out responsibility while striving to uphold and promote quality in all processes assists Technician Manager/Hospital Supervisor with tasks and projects that will improve the quality of medical care and hospital efficiency.
