Exempt: Exempt Base Wage: $95,000 - $105,000 Reports to: Chief Finance Officer Department: Human Resources Program: Location: Statewide organization, remote with on site presence 1-2 days per week Position Type: Regular Date Reviewed: November 2023 General Description: The Human Resources Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission, values and talent strategy within a multi-cultural organization.
The Human Resources Director will lead a culture of kindness, accountability, and equity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 20 Supervisory Responsibilities (within HR Department): Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department emphasizing customer service.
Develops professional skills of the team and provides constructive and timely performance feedback and evaluations.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with organization policy.
Coaches Supervisors during this process.
Oversees that all HR systems reinforce the culture of LSS-SW and are adapted to multi-cultural needs.
80 Duties/Responsibilities: Understands and promotes LSS-SW cultural values within all systems of HR and in all interactions with team members.
Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to talent philosophy including staffing, recruiting, and retention.
Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system(HRIS) or talent management system.
Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
Develops and implements departmental budget.
Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
Provides leadership for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work of the Racial Equity Task Force.
Oversees the development and execution of short and long-term goals identified by the Task Force.
Facilitates meetings and activities of the group.
Develops and implements rewards systems including compensation using market data to benchmark recommendations.
Performs other duties as required.

• Experience leading organization-wide Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and/or Accessibility initiatives.
• Advanced competency in supporting employees from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Ability to build and foster effective and positive working relationship with colleagues and maintain confidentiality to the highest degree.
• Evidence of current AZ driver's license and current insurance.
Education and Experience: • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
• At least five years of human resource management experience required.
2 years must have been in a supervisory position.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP required.
• Bilingual English and Spanish highly preferred.
• Possess a valid Arizona Driver's license, carry automobile insurance, and good driving record • Possess or attain a Class 1 Fingerprint Clearance card Physical Demands/Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics here are representative of those needed by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
