Incentives for this position (based on the 2023-2024 Board approved salary schedule): * Dysart will recognize *ALL* years of experience at *$800/year*.
(For example, if you have 10 years of experience, you will get $8000 added to the base salary).
* An additional *$6600 added to the base salary* as a 301 base starting year 1.
* An additional *$3000 stipend for the first year*.
* An additional *yearly retention stipend of $3000* when teachers return.

0 WORK CALENDAR: 197 GRADE: Certified Salary Schedule APPROVED REVISED: 8/21/2019 SUMMARY: The Teacher in this role will create an environment that meets the individual needs and abilities of students that receive special education services; socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
The Teacher will provide support and services to students with disabilities so they may access the general education curriculum, within a full continuum of services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Maintains all aspects and provisions of confidentiality related to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
* Provides case management services for students on individual education plans (IEP) including all requirements related to the IEP and compliance of federal, state and district regulations/requirements.
* Prepares Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s) and associated documentation; attends IEP meetings and presents materials and lesson plans.
* Determines instructional materials and provides instruction to students based on individualized plan goals, approved curriculum and applicable standards.
* Maintains accurate and complete data records as required by the district.
* Serves as a consultant in the RTl process.
* Provides coaching and training to staff based on students' individual education plans.
* Maintains on-going communication (written and verbal) with parents/guardians.
* Provides behavior management support and behavior intervention plan implementation to staff for students that receive special education services.
* Works with staff to implement appropriate accommodations and modifications within the school setting to allow for student success.
* Attends all staff meetings and professional development courses as required.
* Provides a safe learning environment with an effective classroom management plan * Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
* Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
* Other job related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: * Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Special Education or equivalent.
* Valid Arizona Special Education certificate.
* Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
KNOWLEDGE OF: * Reading and interpreting general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals.
* Writing general correspondence and speak effectively with others.
* Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
* Principles and practices of program administration.
* Basic principles and applications of critical thinking and analysis.
* Best practices, trends and emerging technologies.
* Principles and techniques of effective oral presentations.
* Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
* Specialized equipment relevant to area of assignment.
SKILL IN: * Applying reason to research and solving moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.
* Interpreting an assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms.
* Performing basic original research to assist with developing teaching plans and instructional materials.
* Maintaining and updating documentation.
* Organizing and maintaining records, files and program information.
* Gathering data, analyzing findings and applying logic and reason.
* Authoring and preparing original reports, documents and presentations.
* Researching industry trends, solutions and best practices.
* Maintaining confidentiality.
* Utilizing a computer and relevant software applications.
* Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
