aspx?JobID=5998 *Position Overview:* Seton Catholic Prep is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our Spiritline team, comprising cheer, stunt, pom, and jazz dance performances.
The ideal candidate will not only possess the necessary expertise in coaching but also embody and promote the values of Catholic faith within the team environment.
*Essential Requirements:* * *Experience:* Demonstrated experience in coaching cheerleading teams, preferably at the high school level.
* *Knowledge:* Familiarity with the rules and policies of the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) and National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).
* *Team Collaboration:* Ability to hire and oversee assistant(s) coaches for pom/cheer – 1 program – 2 parts.
* *First Aid Certification:* Must hold current First Aid and CPR certification to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
* *IVP Clearance Card:* Possession of a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
* *Mandatory Head Coach Certifications: *Complete AIA information course, complete and pass annual NFHS Cheer and Dance Rules Interpretation Courses and exams.
Attend mandatory coaching workshops, complete NFHS Concussion in Sports Course if necessary.
* *Willingness to Learn:* Openness to continuous professional development.
* *Skills in Tumbling and Stunting:* Proficiency in tumbling and stunting techniques to help advance the skills of athletes.
* *Availability:* Candidates must be available to conduct morning practices during the week at 6:00am, work evenings during football and basketball seasons, and up to 5 weekends for various events, competitions, training, and camps.
Spiritline tryouts begin in April.
*Job Goal:* To provide leadership in assisting each participating student in achieving a high level of skill, fostering values of discipline and sportsmanship, and promoting increased self-esteem.
The role involves instructing student athletes in specific sports activities while upholding the principles of Catholic faith.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* * Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for successful performance in cheer, stunt, pom, and jazz dance.
* Foster a positive learning environment for athletes, emphasizing teamwork, dedication, and respect.
* Plan and schedule regular practice sessions in accordance with district policy and AIA regulations.
* Manage athlete behavior during training sessions and events, ensuring adherence to standards of discipline and sportsmanship.
* Take necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment, and facilities during activities.
* Collaborate with the athletic director in scheduling interscholastic contests and events.
* Recommend purchases of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as needed for the program.
* Maintain accurate records including attendance, insurance, and accident reports as required.
* Oversee the safety conditions of the facility during sporting activities, prioritizing student welfare.
* Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior among athletes, establishing appropriate penalties for breaches of conduct.
* Assist in field or court preparation as necessary for practices and competitions.
* Provide necessary documentation such as team rosters and end-of-year inventory to the athletic director.
* Evaluate assistant coaches and provide feedback as requested by the athletic director.
*Qualifications:* * Expressed interest in athletics and coaching.
* Physical ability to perform essential functions of the role.
* Understanding of and agreement with the goals of the school's athletic program and its alignment with Catholic faith.
* Knowledge of coaching techniques, human behavior, and relevant policies and regulations.
* Familiarity with the care and treatment of athletic injuries.
