American Leadership Academy Applied Technology School is now accepting applications for an Aviation Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.
Candidates must possess a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card.
The Aviation teacher will perform a variety of routine duties, as needed, to teach aviation flight technology, aerodynamics, aircraft structures and minor repair, aircraft systems, unmanned aircraft systems and the FAA Private Pilot Certification course.
The instructor will also use a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, demonstrations, guest speakers and using audiovisual and technological aids to supplement the presentations.
Job expectations include, but are not limited to:
* Daily classroom instruction as aligned to approved lesson plans.
* Ensure that all school and district policies and procedures are adhered to.
* Ensure a sustainable relationship with parents, school personnel, and members of the public.
* Submit grades and attendance according to the procedures of the school.
* Prepare classroom for instruction.

Aviation Technology Program Teacher requirements are:
* Certificate in The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Industrial and Emerging Technologies Occupational Area
* FAA Private Pilot Certificate
* FAA Instrument rating
* Airline Flight Experience, preferred
* Two years aviation teaching experience, preferred.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills
* Ability to handle stressful situations
* Patient and understanding
