SUMMARY: The Regional Intensive Intervention Specialist will coordinate and facilitate the Regional Intensive Intervention Program for students with substance-related issues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develops and implements Phoenix Union High School District's intervention program related to student substance issues districtwide.
Designs and facilitates substance-related training and education for students, staff, and families.
Collaborates with campus administration and support services to provide recommendations for appropriate interventions for students with substance-related issues.
Conducts substance evaluations with students to determine the appropriate level of intervention required to meet the student's needs.
Facilitates site-based intensive intervention program in coordination with campus administration and support services.
Monitors student progress and maintains accurate up-to-date student documentation for all students referred to the regional intervention program.
Helps create partnerships with community-based organizations to assist students and families with appropriate levels of intervention.
Provides professional development, workshops, and in-service for campus teams, students, and parents related to substance-related issues.
Engages in ongoing professional development including the most recent best practices related to substance prevention, intervention, and clinical services.
Works closely with campus and District Administration to ensure compliance with applicable Board policies, as well as State, and Federal rules, regulation, and statutes.
Attends District and campus meetings as required.
